A prefix is a group of letters that we add to the beginning of a root word. A suffix is a group of letters that we add to the end of a root word. A root word is a word that has a meaning on its own without a prefix or suffix. Prefixes and suffixes change the meaning of a root word in some way.

LO: To revise and practise using the 3 times-table.

Watch the teaching input video: Aut3.11.3 - The 3 times-table on Vimeo

Pause at different parts of the video to allow time to practise answering the questions.

Use ‘Tues Maths activity sheet’ to practise answering questions using the 3 times-table and the different representations (arrays/pictures/grids) to support you.

Review and check your answers using the ‘Tues Maths activity answers’ sheet.

For an extra challenge complete ‘Tues-The 3 Times Table PP’ activities and check your answers using the answer sheet provided.

Activity/answer sheets:

Extra challenge:

PSHE

LO: To identify good choices and negative choices.

Watch the video: How to Make Good Choices: Mindfulness for Kids | Cosmic Kids (app preview) - YouTube

Think of a time when you had to make a choice or ask an adult/sibling to share an example of when they had to make a choice. Discuss whether you think it was a good choice or a negative choice. What were the consequences of making your choice? How did you or others feel after you made the choice? Would you do anything differently next time?

Use ‘Tues PSHE discussion prompts’ pictures to discuss what you think is happening in the pictures and decide whether you think the characters have made a good choice or not a good choice. If you think the characters made a bad choice, can you suggest a better choice they could have made instead?

Extra challenge: Create a traffic light poster to remind you of strategies you can use to help yourself make a good choice. Use the video to help you if you wish (video- red light (stop talking), amber light (take a deep breath/pause), green light (feel calm enough to make a choice that makes you and those around you feel better). You may choose to display the poster in your bedroom or on a fridge to help any siblings you have, make good choices too.

Extended learning activities

Practise reading and discussing a book or text of your choice with an adult or sibling.

Practise weekly spellings using the ‘Look, Cover, Write, Check’ method (focus on your own spelling group’s spellings – 1,2 or 3).

Practise recalling and learning your times tables.

Use ‘Daily 10’ games to practise mental arithmetic (timed) questions.

Continue to complete ‘2Do’ activities set by your teachers on Purple Mash.
