Freeze frame paintings
Take photographs of you posing in different action positions (running, jumping, kicking etc)
Paint a picture of you in one of the action poses.
Look at a variety of different sculptures and how they are formed, for example the discus thrower.
Create a sculpture of you in one of your action poses using items around your home (twigs, sticks, toothpicks, alfoil, cardboard, string, material and glue).

1. Using paddle pop sticks, create a variety of puppets. If possible, add clothes and hair using material or other items.
2. Create a story and put on a puppet show using the characters you have created.

Read your favourite fairy tale.
Recreate each significant scene from the story using facial expressions and body language.
Remember, you can’t speak or move- you are frozen!
See if your family members
can guess which scene you
are acting out.
Drama Freezes
Body Percussion Body Percussion: Using the rhyme below create your own actions using your body to make different sounds and music.
Clap Your Hands Clap them, clap them, clap them so. Clap them high, clap them low. Clap them left, clap them right. Clap them, clap them out of sight. Other verses: Roll them…. Shake them….
Challenge: Make as many sounds as you can with different parts of your bodies. This activity can be done in pairs or small groups. Try to create loud or quiet sounds and long or short sounds.
Kitchen Music
Draw 5 objects you might find in the kitchen.
Under each picture, list some sounds you could make using that object.
Make up a Dance
Create a simple dance routine that includes
skipping, jumping and gentle arm
movements. Show your dance to an adult or
post it on Seesaw for your teacher to see.

I’ve got the moves! Mime yourself Wiggles!
Air Guitar As If Dance Party
I’ve Got the Moves Time to get up and moving! Choose a favourite song and let
your child dance along. Add some laughter to the activity and have your child follow along with your moves. Perhaps you
could follow their moves too.
“ Be your child’s mirror! Stand face to face and mirror each
others actions without talking. Suggest different things to
mime such as your child’s favourite sport or an animal such
as the family pet!
Mime Yourself
Wiggles Ask your child to jog on the spot and whilst they
are still jogging, ask them to wiggle their fingers.
Gradually add in the following body parts to
wiggle: wrists, arms, shoulders, hips, knees and
head.
Air Guitar Put on some music and compete with
your child to see who can play the best air guitar!
As If! Read each sentence out to your child and ask them to act it out for 30 seconds:
• Jog on the spot as if a big scary bear is chasing you • Walk forwards as if you are walking through a pool filled with
ice-cream • Jump on the spot as if you are popcorn popping • Reach up as if you are grabbing balloons out of the air • March in place as if you are in a marching band • Shake your body as if you are a wet dog.
Turn on the radio or some music and DANCE until the song ends.

Throwing and catching
Throw and catch – 1 player
Throw and catch on the spot. This is good for improving hand-eye coordination. Begin by catching with 2 hands and then move to one hand. You can make this more difficult by adjusting the height of the throw or switching to your non-dominant hand.
Throw and catch – 2 players
This activity can be done with a brother/sister or parent. Practice throwing and catching a ball to each other using your dominant and non-dominant hand. You can increase difficulty by adding a ‘trick’ between each throw such as a clap, two claps, a spin etc.
Wall ball – 1 or 2 players
For this activity you will need a wall or fence. Start by throwing the ball against the wall and catching it as it rebounds. See how many times you can throw and catch the ball without dropping it!
