What to expect in Year 10
The transition from Year 9 to Year 10 may be difficult for both
students and parents. The recent
move to linear exams has resulted in an increase of informal
assessments throughout the year. It is
also the year were a lot of subjects get students to complete
controlled assessment which is often
worth at least 25% of their GCSE grade, with limited availability
to re-sit. The purpose of this booklet
is to try and support parents and students by providing information
that will enable you to clearly
understand the demands of Year 10.
The content of this booklet are:
Key dates for Year 10
A programme of study from each subject area.
Please be aware that the dates are a guide. Depending on the needs
of the class the teacher

If you would like any further information please contact the
school.
