Drop Everything and Draw Try the following drawing activities! Choose one per art session and complete your drawing on a piece of paper to share with
your teacher on SeeSaw! We can’t wait to see what you come up with! COLOUR EACH ACTIVITY BLOCK IN ONCE YOU HAVE FINISHED, TO CREATE A PATTERN!
Design and draw a magical playground that you would love to play in. Use your imagination and sense of
humour!
Design and draw a car that is unlike any car you
have ever seen before.
Find an expressive photo of yourself and draw a self
portrait.
Draw a pair of sunglasses. On the glass, draw the reflection of an interesting view. For
example, if the sunglasses were lying in the sand at a beach, perhaps the reflection on the
glass might be of a child building a sandcastle.
Choose a character from your favourite book and draw that character.
Draw the best day you have ever had.
Design characters for a new children’s music show.
Draw one of your dreams.
Draw how you are feeling. Create a creature. Design a soft, loveable, cuddly and
cute character that a young child (maybe you!)
might love to have.
Design an animal that no human has ever seen
before- you can also draw where it could be found.
Look at your favourite food and draw it. Take a bite out of your favourite food and draw it again. Take another bite and draw it
again… Create the best tree house
that you can imagine. What would be inside,
what cool things could you do in there?
Draw what you can see outside your window, or
you can draw what you’d like to see outside your
window!
Draw yourself playing your favourite sport.
Draw a piece of artwork for your home.

Year 1 Writing – Week 9 Wednesday

** We are learning to plan persuasive texts **
This week you are going to try to persuade your parents to cook your favourite meal for dinner.
Today you will plan your ideas.
Have you read the story ‘Eat Your Peas’ – you can view the story by scanning this QR code:
Or you can type this link into an internet browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYJCzfa_XzI
In this story, the mum keeps offering Daisy lots of nice things to try and persuade her to eat her peas. She starts by offering her some pudding (or dessert) but ends up offering her crazy things like 17 swimming pools, 92 chocolate factories and saying she doesn’t have to go to bed ever!
When you plan your writing today, you will need to think of some things you can offer your parents to persuade them to cook your favourite meal.
First, decide what meal you want your parents to cook.
My favourite meal is _____________________________________

Use items around your house (pillows, pool noodles, baskets, etc) to create a funobstacle course. Play the floor is lava
Decide which furniture is ok to jump on and considered safe. Set a timer and thefirst person yells, “The floor is lava.” All other players must get to the “safe” spotbefore the time runs out. Go on an animal safari
Draw or print different animal shapes and have your child color them in. Hidethem around the house for your child to find. Play I Spy Cleanup
Set a time to put away as many items until the clock runs out. Call out an item foryour child to race towards, grab, and put away! Play a flashcard hide and seek
