rafters of their storerooms and who then quickly jumped up and ran in retreat in fear of Mother Yaod but wasultimately caughtto that Supreme Lord, rDmodara, I offer my humble obeisances.2) Upon seeing His mothers whipping stick, He cried and rubbed His eyes again and again with His two lotushands. His eyes were fearful and His breathing quick, and as Mother Yaod bound His belly with ropes, Heshivered in fright and His pearl necklace shook. To this Supreme Lord, rDmodara, who is bound with Hisdevotees love, I offer my humble obeisances.3) Those superexcellent pastimes of Lord Kas babyhood drowned the inhabitants of Gokula in pools of ecstasyTo the devotees who are attracted only to His majestic aspect of Nryaa in Vaikuha, the Lord herein reveals: "I

am conquered and overwhelmed by pure loving devotion." To the Supreme Lord Dmodara, my obeisanceshundreds and hundreds of times.4) O Lord, although You are able to give all kinds of benedictions, I do not pray to You for liberation, nor eternallife in Vaikuha, nor any other boon. My only prayer is that Your childhood pastimes may constantly appear in mymind. O Lord, I do not even want to know Your feature of Paramtm. I simply wish that Your childhood pastimesmay ever be enacted in my heart.5) O Lord, the cheeks of Your blackish lotus face, which is encircled by locks of curling hair, have becomereddened like bimba fruit due to Mother Yaods kisses. What more can I describe than this? Millions of opulencesare of no use to me, but may this vision constantly remain in my mind.6) O unlimited Viu! O master! O Lord! Be pleased upon me! I am drowning in an ocean of sorrow and am almostlike a dead man. Please shower the rain of mercy on me; uplift me and protect me with Your nectarean vision.7) O Lord Dmodara, in Your form as a baby Mother Yaod bound You to a grinding stone with a rope for tying

cows. You then freed the sons of Kuvera, Maigrva and Nalakvera, who were cursed to stand as trees, and Yougave them the chance to become Your devotees. Please bless me in this same way. I have no desire for liberationinto Your effulgence.8) O Lord, the entire universe was created by Lord Brahm, who was born from Your abdomen, which was boundwith a rope by Mother Yaod. To this rope I offer my humble obeisances. I offer my obeisances to Your mostbeloved rmatRdhrand to Your unlimited pastimes.

    1) I am singing news of the greatest happiness! At the place known as Surabhi Kuja in rNavadvpa, theMarketplace of the Holy Name has now been opened-and Lord Nitynanda Himself is the Proprietor.2) Such wonderful things are going on in that blissful marketplace! rNitynanda Prabhu is selling the pure HolyName wholesale, merely for the price of ones faith.3) Seeing the assembly of devotees eagerly waiting to purchase the Name, Lord Nitynanda first examines each ofthem to test their qualification; then He sells them the Name by bargaining for His price accordingly.

    4) O my dear friends! If you really want to buy this pure Holy Name, then just come along with me, for I am nowgoing to meet with this Nitynanda Mahjana.5) Thus, you will finally be able to acquire the pure Holy Name. I will also take my due commission, and in thisway all three of us will fulfill our desires.6)rNitynanda Prabhu is so extraordinarily merciful-accepting only ones faith in the Holy Name, He bestowsthe topmost divine bliss.7) When Niti sees a tear welling in someones eye upon chanting the name of "Gaura!" He instantly gives Hissupport to that person; indeed, He bestows all divine opulences.8) He gives that person genuine realization of the pure teachings ofrKa as found in the Bhagavad-gt andrmad-Bhgavatam. While displaying all this inconceivable mercy, He pays no attention to ones caste, materialwealth, mundane knowledge, or physical ability.

    9) Now, dear friends, please reject all of mys entangling snares. If you are a householder, then just remain atyour home; if you are renounced, then just live in the forest. Either way, nothing more will trouble you.10) We no longer need to fear the terrible Age of Quarrel, for the most merciful Lord Nitynanda gives the HolyName to anyone and everyone-even to the lowest among men.11) Bhaktivinoda loudly calls out and proclaims to all, "OTHER THAN THE LOTUS FEET OF LORD NITYNANDA,THERE IS NO SHELTER!"

TRANSLATION1) O Vaisnava Thakura! Please give me your mercy knowledge of my relationship with Bhagavan and the abilityto do bhajana, sending my false ego far away.2) If I think "I am a Vaisnava," then I will never become humble. My heart will become contaminated with thehope of receiving honor from others, and I will surely go to hell.3) Give me the mercy that I can renounce the false conception of my being guru and can be your servant. Let meaccept without duplicity your remnants and your foot-bath water.

    4) By thinking that I am superior (guru) and giving my remnants to others, I will bring about my destruction. Letme always identify as your disciple and not accept any worship or praise from others.5) In this way I can renounce the desire for honor for myself and can offer respect to others. Weeping sincerely atyour lotus feet and rolling on the ground, I pray that you will give me the ability to chant nma purely.

    1) I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvms, namely r Rpa Gosvm, r Santana Gosvm, rRaghuntha Bhaa Gosvm, r Raghuntha dsa Gosvm, r Jva Gosvm, and r Gopla Bhaa Gosvm, whoare always engaged in chanting the holy name of Ka and dancing. They are just like the ocean of love of God,and they are popular both with the gentle and with the ruffians, because they are not envious of anyone. Whateverthey do, they are all-pleasing to everyone, and they are fully blessed by Lord Caitanya. Thus they are engaged inmissionary activities meant to deliver all the conditioned souls in the material universe.2) I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvms, namely r Rpa Gosvm, r Santana Gosvm, rRaghuntha Bhaa Gosvm, r Raghuntha dsa Gosvm, r Jva Gosvm, and r Gopla Bhaa Gosvm, whoare very expert in scrutinizingly studying all the revealed scriptures with the aim of establishing eternal religiousprinciples for the benefit of all human beings. Thus they are honored all over the three worlds and they are worthtaking shelter of because they are absorbed in the mood of the gopis and are engaged in the transcendental loving

service of Rdh and Ka.3) I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvms, namely r Rpa Gosvm, r Santana Gosvm, rRaghuntha Bhaa Gosvm, r Raghuntha dsa Gosvm, r Jva Gosvm, and r Gopla Bhaa Gosvm, whoare very much enriched in understanding of Lord Caitanya and who are thus expert in narrating His transcendentalqualities. They can purify all conditioned souls from the reactions of their sinful activities by pouring upon themtranscendental songs about Govinda. As such, they are very expert in increasing the limits of the ocean oftranscendental bliss, and they are the saviors of the living entities from the devouring mouth of liberation.4) I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvms, namely r Rpa Gosvm, r Santana Gosvm, rRaghuntha Bhaa Gosvm, r Raghuntha dsa Gosvm, r Jva Gosvm, and r Gopla Bhaa Gosvm, whokicked off all association of aristocracy as insignificant. In order to deliver the poor conditioned souls, theyaccepted loincloths, treating themselves as mendicants, but they are always merged in the ecstatic ocean of thegopis love for Ka and bathe always and repeatedly in the waves of that ocean.5) I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvms, namely r Rpa Gosvm, r Santana Gosvm, rRaghuntha Bhaa Gosvm, r Raghuntha dsa Gosvm, r Jva Gosvm, and r Gopla Bhaa Gosvm, whowere always engaged in worshiping Rdh-Ka in the transcendental land of Vndvana where there arebeautiful trees full of fruits and flowers which have under their roots all valuable jewels. The Gosvms areperfectly competent to bestow upon the living entities the greatest boon of the goal of life.6) I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvms, namely r Rpa Gosvm, r Santana Gosvm, rRaghuntha Bhaa Gosvm, r Raghuntha dsa Gosvm, r Jva Gosvm, and r Gopla Bhaa Gosvm, whowere engaged in chanting the holy names of the Lord and bowing down in a scheduled measurement. In this waythey utilized their valuable lives and in executing these devotional activities they conquered over eating andsleeping and were always meek and humble enchanted by remembering the transcendental qualities of the Lord.7) I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvms, namely r Rpa Gosvm, r Santana Gosvm, rRaghuntha Bhaa Gosvm, r Raghuntha dsa Gosvm, r Jva Gosvm, and r Gopla Bhaa Gosvm, who

were sometimes on the bank of the Rdh-kunda lake or the shores of the Yamuna and sometimes at Vavaa. There they appeared just like madmen in the full ecstasy of love for Ka, exhibiting different transcendentalsymptoms in their bodies, and they were merged in the ecstasy of Ka consciousness.8) I offer my respectful obeisances unto the six Gosvms, namely r Rpa Gosvm, r Santana Gosvm, rRaghuntha Bhaa Gosvm, r Raghuntha dsa Gosvm, r Jva Gosvm, and r Gopla Bhaa Gosvm, whowere chanting very loudly everywhere in Vndvana, shouting, "Queen of Vndvana, Rdhr! O Lalita! O son ofNanda Mahrja! Where are you all now? Are you just on the hill of Govardhana, or are you under the trees on thebank of the Yamun? Where are you?" These were their moods in executing Ka consciousness.
