Theme: World of Knowledge

Topic: Favourite foods (topic 2- Being healthy)

Focussed Skill: Listening and speaking Integrated skill: Writing

Content standard : 1.1 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm, and intonation. Learning standards : 1.1.4 Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance. 1.3.1 Able to listen to and demonstrate understanding of oral texts by:a) Answering simple Wh-questions.

Behavioural Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: 1. listen to the audio clip presented and tell all the foods in the audio verbally.1. Answer 4 out of 5 questions correctly by matching the food to the correct category.

Previous Knowledge: Pupils know various types of food.Language Focus: Nouns (name of food)Teaching Aids/Material(s) : Song, pictures, task sheet.Educational Emphases: Moral Value: Love for life. CCTS: comparing and contrasting.

Pupils are required to discuss with the teacher what the differences between the food presented.3. Teacher guides pupils to talk more about the picture.To teach pupils on the name of the foods.

While-Listening [ +25 minutes ]

Listening and speaking activity Listen to a song. Identify the content of the song

1. Pupils are divided into group of 51. Teacher plays an audio file.1. Each group are asked to write down the food that they identify while listening to the audio.1. Teacher then reads out the list of food in the audio.1. Pupils check if their list is complete and correct.To develop pupils listening and speaking skill.

To ensure the pupils listen to the audio.Song (Appendix 3)

Post-Listening [ +15 minutes ]

Sing a song

Pupils will sing the song together. 1. Pupils are divided into two groups1. Teacher play the song again and the group will compete to sing the song.1. The group with the best singing based on the pronunciation, rhythm and beat will win.1. If there is extra time, teacher will call the best pupil to sing in front of the class.To make sure the pupils really undertsand and know the name of the foods.

1. Teacher explains to the pupils on importance of taking healthy foods and avoiding unhealthy foods.2. Teacher encourages pupils to take more healthy food and appreciate healthiness and life.To recap todays lesson.To create awareness among the pupils.
