These Turning Centers are uniquein being one of the very firstmachines to adopt the inter-national standard “Desina” specification for cabling and interconnections. This is vital, as it allows for fast, easy maintenance for all of the machines, reducing your downtime and keeping your engineers happy.

They also provide a customerfriendly design for the relay panel, with clearly marked spares, so that in the event of a relay failure, your engineer can simply plug inone of the spares and you are back up and running straight away.

The integrated oil mistlubrication system constantly renews theoil which is a significantadvantage over oldergrease based lubricationthat causes heating issuesand needs to be cleanedand replaced regularly.

This casting is stress relived to ensure long term, deformation free performance. The casting is also heavily ribbed to minimize vibration and increase structural strength.

For complex component manufactures, the LT3 deliversdual Y-Axis machining, so you can have complex Y-Axiscutting for both front and back machining without theneed to share a turret. This dramatically decreases yourcutting cycle time, increasing your production efficiency.

Cell Automation Options

The Mitsubishi RV-3SD delivers maximumfreedom of movement to suit the most complexgeometry requirements. This type of robot offersthe highest rewards in unattended production. The arm feeds a new piece into the chuck, thengoes to the back spindle to remove the finishedworkpiece, takes it to the out feed and thenreturns to pick up another blank ready to feed in.

You optimize your production outputand minimize operator intervention. Theoperator just makes sure there are plentyof blanks available and removes thecompleted units from the tray once full. This could of course be integrated withan out-feed conveyor to further increaseautomation.

Mitsubishi RV-3SD“This type of robot offers the highestrewards in unattended production”

This robot can also be removed andlocated to another machine if required soyou are not tied to replacing the robot ifyou decide to upgrade the machine it isinstalled on to another model in the series.

Gantry Type System“The most economical solutionfor production automation”

The gantry system loader/unloader delivers the most economical solutionfor production automation and is especially suitable for multi cell environ-ments. The machine features a double gripper to securely hold the parts as well a servo drive to ensure positional accuracy and smooth movement.

There are now two options for cell automation in the LT series. So for customers operating in multi-cell environments you canchoose either a gantry type loader / unloader or a fully programmable robot arm.

Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation technologies are condensed into a 64 bit RISC processor and an exclusively developed high speed LSI. The basic CNC functions, built-in PLC and graphic performance are all improved. The M720/M730 block processing speed is 67,500 BPM with a 686 block look ahead.

Complete NANO Control All operations from program values to servo commands are done in nanometer units. Interpolation is at the nano-unit level even when the program commands are in micrometer units.

Pop-up Screens

Tabs allow the user to select necessary operations from theoperation menu, and pop-up screens allow the user to accessdesired information while the original screen remains displayed.

2-Part System Display

The Monitor screen of the 2nd part system can be displayedtogether with the 1st part system. Switching screens is notnecessary.

Screen Structure Linking to Operation ProcessOperation processes are divided into three steps, “Monitor”,“Setup” and “Edit”, and nesscessary information is aggregatedinto three screens. These screens can be displayed by touch-ing a single button on the keyboard.

NC Monitor (Remote Monitoring Tool)

An identical NC display screen can be displayed on a per-sonal computer. By connecting a PC to the NC unit whennessecary, various data can be chaecked and set usingthe same HMI as the standard NC screen.

Control Axis Synchronization Across Part Systems (Lathe System)

Synchronization control enables an arbitrary control axis inthe other part system to move in synchronization with themovement command assigned to an arbitrary control axis.

Balance Cut (Lathe System)

from both sides of the wowrkpiece and using them in syn-chronization to machine the workpiece (balance cutting).

The machining time can be reduced by machining with twotools.

2-Part system synchronous thread cutting allows the 1st partsystem and the second part system to preform thread cuttingsimultaneously for the same spindle.

2-Part system synchronous thread cutting has two commands;(G76.1) for cutting threads in two places simultaneously, known as “2-part system synchronous thread cycle I”; and (G76.2) forcutting a thread using the two part systems simultaneously, which is known as “2-part system synchronous thread cutting cycle II”.

2-Part System Synchronous Thread Cutting(Lathe System)

A high-speed error-compensation function is used for Control-ling the spindle and servo, enabling accurate tapping.
