The four lots include standard efficiency 9” membrane disc diffusers in lot 1; high efficiency modular diffusers (Sanitaire Gold Series) in lot 2; interconnecting air main pipework and valves in lot 3 which is optional and replacement membranes and aeration grid spare parts in lot 4. The Xylem equipment will be used across all of Thames Water’s sewage and water treatment sites. The three-year FA1003 agreement has an option for a further two years. Parker buys railroad filtration business from Camfil Farr Parker Hannifin Corp has acquired Camfil Farr Group’s railroad filtration business, a manufacturer of air and liquid filtration products used in rail and transit, mining and marine engine applications. Headquartered in Laval, Canada, the Camfil Farr railroad filtration business had sales of approximately US$22 million in 2011, 90 employees and operations and sales in Canada, Mexico and India and a sales presence in the US and Australia. The acquired business will become part of Parker’s Filtration Group. About 75% of the ongoing revenues of the railroad filtration business will be reported in Parker’s Industrial North America segment, while the remaining 25% will be in the company’s Industrial International segment. www.parker.com www.camfilfarr.com SPX adds Seital to food and beverage portfolio SPX Corp’s Flow Technology segment has acquired Seital Srl, an Italian supplier of disc centrifuges (separators and clarifiers) to the global food and beverage, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Seital’s core technologies cover the clarification of liquids, separation of liquids, concentration, recovery of solids, and extraction of substances. The company’s disc centrifuges, rotary brush strainers and hydrocyclones, and standardizers are used primarily by customers in the food and beverage industry. Applications include dairy, wine, beverages and essential oils, as well as oils and fats. Founded in 1983, Seital is based in Santorso, Italy and has approximately 50 employees. www.spx.com www.seital.com Oasys Water partners with Select Energy Services Forward osmosis technology company Oasys Water is teaming up with Select Energy Services LLC to bring its membrane brine concentrator to the oil and gas sector. Select Energy Services, a provider of engineered water solutions to the oil and gas industry, will be the exclusive operator of Oasys Water’s membrane brine concentrator technology in the Permian Basin, for a 24 month period. Under the strategic partnership, Select Energy Services will use Oasys Water’s membrane brine concentrator to treat high saline produced waters from hydraulic fracturing activities. Oasys Water’s membrane brine concentrator uses the principles of forward osmosis, a natural process that draws fresh water across a semi-permeable barrier to produce potable quality water. www.oasyswater.com www.selectenergyservices.com Mahle moves into water treatment Mahle Industry GmbH has acquired the German technology venture InnoWa Membrane GmbH. Schwaikheim, Germany-based InnoWa Membrane manufactures high-performance filter systems based on membrane technology. Under Mahle ownership, InnoWa Membrane will now operate as Mahle InnoWa GmbH, headquartered in Stuttgart. Mahle Industry will integrate InnoWa Membrane into its Industrial Filtration division creating a new platform focused on water treatment. “By acquiring InnoWa Membrane, we are opening up new areas of application for our company in the field of filtration, such as the increasingly important segment of water treatment,” said Dr Michael Matros, corporate executive vice president and general manager of Mahle Industry. www.mahle.com www.innowa-gmbh.de
