First XI Girls’ Football

The First XI Girls have had a busy week with two games.

On Monday we played Northcote for the Wysoczanski

Cup. It was a tough game with the teams

evenly matched. Two goals from

Madison Miller for us and two goals

for Northcote resulted in a two all draw,

much to the frustration of coach, Mr

Rotheray. As cur rent holders of the

cup we retain it until our next contest.

With several of the experienced players

out due to injury it was a slightly

different line up for the game against

Carmel College on Wednesday. The team as a whole

stepped up to the challenge and

although we finished with a narrow 1-0

loss there are many players who gave of

their best. George Sumeo Shaw took

charge of the back line and set the

standard for the defenders. Lisa

Weskamp worked tirelessly in the

midfield and Georgia Kearns Docker

also had a good game. All players put in

an excellent effort and despite the loss

Mr Rotheray and Ms Purdie were

very proud of their performance.
