Their Pearls of Wisdom Celebration takes place on Thursday, May 14, at the Milwaukee Art Museum. This celebration includes a reception and silent auction, dinner and a live auction and entertainment featuring Milwaukee’s own John McGivern! Tickets are $125, but will be underwritten by St. Matt’s to bring the cost down to $75 per person. Let’s join together to support this important community organization. If you’re interested in attending, contact Pr. Margaret or the church office.

We currently have $15,000 in our Care for Creation fund; let’s raise $15,000 more!St. Matthew’s currently has $15,000 in our Care For Creation fund. These funds have been accumulated through sales by our Sustainable Crafters, through a monthly deposit of $500 due to energy savings from past projects, and through several bequests.

Please join us to double this fund in support of future projects so that we can do even more to care for God’s good creation through continued reduction of energy use and through water conservation. Project priorities will be determined by the Church Council Property Committee and done as the need for the project arises.

Through this initiative and the many initiatives we have completed we hope to become an Energy Star certified congregation. Thank you for all your support over the last nine years. You have done great things!

Quilt Blessing for 2014-2015Created with love by Stitches of Love Quilt Ministry

Celebrating 12 years of ministry

The Quilt Ministry strives to make beautiful quilts and blankets from donated fabrics for distribution to individuals who are in physical, emotional, or spiritual need. Each item sewn through the Ministry is uniquely created and made with love, just as each of its members who created them has been formed by God. Many different talents, skills, friendship and creative minds woven together to touch the lives of those in need has been a miracle unfolding. Thanks to church members, children, grandchildren and friends of the quilting ministry for their donations. Prior to distribution, all quilts receive a prayer of blessing. The quilt ministry, Stitches of Love, at St. Matthew’s came into being in late 2003. A total of 1,818 quilts have been donated to date and this concludes our 12th year of creating love and warm to those in need.Accomplishments of Quilt Ministry September-May 2014-2015

We need your help! It is the volunteers that make this program so successful. Please feel free to give me a call if you have questions or schedule limitations.
