The Association of Municipalities, Polish Network “Energie Cités” (PNEC) is a non governmental, non profit organisation with its office located in Kraków. The organisation was registered in 1994.
The statutory goal of the Association is promotion of energy efficiency and creation of municipal development strategy, including renewable energy.

The Association has 26 municipal members in Poland, 1 in Lithuania and 2 supporting organisations in Ukraine.

Polish Network „Energie Cités” received from the European network Energie-Cités CD-ROM presenting 105 best practices of use of renewable energy in cities and communities in 19 European countries.
CD-ROM prepared in English and French by Energie-Cités with thefinancial support of European Commission within the scope of the ALTENER Programme was translated into Polish.

5000 sets of this two CD-ROMs were published by Polish Network „Energie Cités” and given gratuitously to every Polish municipality and eight NGOs dealing with renewable energy.

1. Follow up of European project: TEMPUS JOINT EUROPEAN PROJECT IB_ JEP 14326 „Course on Sustainable Energy for Local Administrators”, AGH students visited PNEC and asked about possibilities to participate in sudy tours to learn about RE investments
2. Information from Marshal office that in preliminary call for proposals – January-February 2004: 260 applications were sent, only 1 application referred to renewable energy, but did not
meet formal requirements.
