Introduction

Both beginners and advanced users will benefit from the Report Management/Menu Changes session.

This session will teach you how to run standard reports and change or customize standard ePace features from the ePace Administration main menu option.


Report Front End Modification

• Accessing the RFEAdministration System Setup General Reports

• Purpose of the RFEProvide a link between Crystal Reports files and the ePace System

A link to a report in ePace points to the RFE, which contains the name of the file to run, as well as a list of parameters to pass.


Add/Modify A Definition

Fields:– Lock Buttons – Settings do not revert during upgrade– Name - Pick a report file from the standard or custom report

folder– Base Object – If selected, defines the reference point for xPath,

and adds the report to the [Reports] button on that object– Display Name – The name used to display this report in the

system(Not necessarily the same as the menu name)

– Description – Additional info about this report for your reference


Add/Modify A Definition

Fields:– Export Type – The type of file to generate from the report.

(Some options will require specialized report development)– Allow refresh – Enables the [Refresh] button for certain report

types– Default Printer– Crystal Clear Version – The rendering engine to use

(6.5 in almost all cases)

– Data Preparer – Large amounts of data sometimes require special functions to keep reports loading quickly

– Show logo – Determines whether, if configured, this report should display the company logo


Add/Modify Report Parameters

Fields:– Lock Parameters – Parameters do not revert during

upgrade– Name – The display name used to identify and

prompt for parameters– Description – Additional information about this

parameter that shows in the tooltip. Useful for identifying parameter options like (1, 2, 3, O, C, X)

– Data Type – The type field to send the report(Should match the report file)



Fields:– Expression Type – Option to use a single value, or a

variable expression with xPath– Expression – The value or formula to pass the report

file– Example xPath expressions



Fields:– Prompt Sequence – Enables you to sort parameters

so they are passed to the report file in the expected order

– Prompt – Enables the user to edit this value before running the report

– Accept Multi Value– Is Logo

Menu Changes

• Administration System Setup User Interface User Defined Menu

• Adding A New Menu– Webapp

• Epace – modifies the Production system interface• Eservice – modifies the Customer store front interface• Mobile – modifies the Wireless Inventory interface

– Group• Leave blank to affect all groups, • Specify a group to create many custom menus

If a user belongs to more than one group with a custom menu, you can define which one to use by going to the system user and drilling into the group list.


Modifying A Menu

• Active Flag• Yellow Folder Icon – Left click to expand or

collapse menu options• Blue Toolbox – Left click to choose options

– Active/Inactive– Cut/Copy/Paste– Move Up/Down– Move to Menu Root– Collapse


Add A New Item

• Caption – The name to display on the menu• Tooltip – The rollover hint for this item• Report

Choose the report definition

• External URL– Enter the address to link to

• Valid:- http://www.google.com- http://192.168.0.1/epace/inquiry/view/5000- /epace/inquiry/view/5000

– SectionAdd a new folder to the menu


Add A New Item

• Context Item– Link directly to a specified form– Object – the ePace object– Item – the specific form (i.e. - detail, add)

• Process– Link to a specific processing or posting form– Choose the process from the drop-down

• Setup– Link to a setup item– Choose the setup item from the drop-down


Delete Custom Menus And Restore Defaults
