Emergency System for the Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals – ESAR-VHP

ESAR-VHP works with states to establish a national network of state-based programs for pre-registration of volunteer health professionals. Working within this network of verified credentials and up-to-date information, volunteers are able to serve at a moment's notice, within their state or across state lines, to provide needed help during an emergency.

Title 37-B, Section 784
“A person holding a professional license in the State may be designated a member of the emergency management forces in that professional capacity only after the individual or the license issuer provides confirmation of a valid license…”
Volunteers that are deployed through Maine Responds will receive liability and Worker’s Comp protection as a member of the state’s official emergency management forces…
