1 OBSERVATIONAL VISITS TO WELFARE AGENCIES: 201.1 Ten field visits to social welfare / social work agencies i.e. NGOs, Public

sector, CBOs, Trade unions of organized sector, government agencies etc.

1.2 Visit will cover the following minimum points to prepare reports.1) Knowing the objectives.2) Administrative setup3) Legal status4) Types of inmates.5) Functions6) Funding7) Role of Social worker.The objectives of the field visit are to provide an exposure to the work being done by these agencies and groups in meeting people’s needs. These visits are to be planned as a part of orientation to field work.

2 CLASS ROOM SEMINAR / PAPER PRESENTATION(Internal by committee of teacher appointed by Head/Coordinator)

2.1 This seminar shall be conducted on the following guidelines.Each student shall prepare and present a paper in the seminar in an academic session.

2.2 The seminar shall be based on themes from the concurrent field work, observation visits and topics from the area of social problems.

2.3 A faculty will be in charge of this activity and shall supervise the seminar.The paper shall be submitted to the college immediately after presentation

3 INTERNAL VIVA-VOCE: (Internal by committee of teacher appointed by Head/Coordinator)

3.1 An internal viva-voce shall be conducted immediately after thecompletion of field work for each of the student.

3.2 The internal viva-voce shall be based on Orientation visit, Group discussion, Village Camp and Seminar.

3.3 The viva-voce shall be compulsory.The internal viva-voce shall be conducted by a panel comprising of the field worksupervisor the class in charge and the head of the institution / department of his /her nominee.

1 VILLAGE CAMP: (20 Internal and 20 External) 401.1 The village camp will be residential camp in a village and shall be of

minimum of SEVEN days duration inclusive of the days of travel.1.2 Through the camp the student shall learn about the problems of

agriculture, live stock and related issues. The working of the Government Programmes in the village, Social stratification related towomen, scheduled caste / tribes and the landless laborers.The problems of drinking water, rural heath, sanitation, education and environmental degradation.

1.3 The student participating in camp shall organize programmes to provide information and creates awareness about rural problems and solution.Recreational and cultural programmes can also be undertaken involving village youth, Children and Women. Some competitive programmes may also be organized for the village community. A final report on the camp should be submitted to the college after completion of camp.

2 GROUP DISCUSSION: (Internal by committee of teacher appointed by Head/Coordinator )This group discussion shall be conducted on the following guidelines.a) Each student shall prepare and participate in the group discussion in an academic session.b) The group discussion shall be based on theme of various social issues and problems.c) A faculty will be the in charge of this activity and shall supervise the group discussion.d) Report of group discussion shall be submitted to the in charge after presentation.
