Association of Friends of the Ancient Hellenic Civilization “Elefsis”
The Association of Friends of the Ancient Hellenic Civilization “Elefsis” was established in early 2000 in Lefkosia (Nicosia), Cyprus. It started out as a group of friends who shared research interests on the real meanings of what is called Ancient Hellenic (Greek) Civilization. As time passed, this small group evolved into a large association of people with common interests, objectives and aspirations.

Activities of the Association “Elefsis”
Research, knowledge and historical truth with regard to the real dimensions and breadth of Hellenic Civilization.
Hosting and coordination of 200 and more presentations, meetings, and seminars
Organization of excursions and o a series of educational field visits to areas and sites of archaeological and cultural interest
Participation in the European project “Geomythology” funded under the SOCRATES – Grundtvig II framework, as Cypriot target-group for information and training
Participationin the European project “GEOMYTHOLOGICAL PARKS IN A SUSTAINABLE TOURIST DEVELOPMENT” funded under the Leonardo Da Vinci.

Goals and Objectives of “Elefsis”
Aims at the ethical defense and the restoration of Hellenism
Considers the Human Being as a non-negotiable value. “
Recognizes the non-negotiable balance of the Natural World and of all life forms, according to the approach of the Hellenic Worldview
Opposes anything that degrades human beings as personalities and turns them into waifs of situations and substances or puppets of other people.

Prioritizes collectiveness and solidarity to fellow humans
Considers diversity and polyphony essential, since they do not threaten but rather reinforce any group.
Promotes orthological and free thinking,
The Association strongly supports that Hellenic Civilization stands for Responsibility and Initiative

Goals of the Program
The purpose of this project will be to examine the social, economic, cultural and infrastructure elements of the ancient cities, and their correlation to today's world
By examining the way that ancient cities functioned in different sectors like politics, architecture, education, construction, health, entertainment, mythology, philosophy, culture, transportation, geology, ecology, etc. we will identify areas and ways of improvement in our contemporary societies.

Future goals
At local level we will send articles in the town monthly magazine.
We will send press releases in local and national newspapers about the project and their results.
We will participate in radio programmes and television networks to disseminate the results of the Partnership.

We are planning seminars and lectures open to the public aiming the dissemination of the results.
We will publish brochures, studies and educational material.
