It is a formal declaration that the operator successfully completed a training covering all his/her tasks during the mission
Certifications are tailored to each position, with common and specific areas
Due to the short duration of the ExoMars mission certifications expirations are not considered

Columbus ESA training for ground operators is organized with classroom lessons at Cologne and Munich
This provides a possibility for setting up contacts with other sites’ operators
Arranging suitable dates for many operators is not easy and sometimes long waiting lists are required
Columbus did not require to build up the whole team in a short time as ExoMars

ExoMars training should be efficient to assemble a full team in time for a condensed mission
First training phases may overlap with last payload development stages
Operators may have limited booking time for training during this period
Lessons should then be remotely available as an option

Many theoretical lessons may be delivered using an e-learning infrastructure
This allows on-demand delivery removing location and timing contraints
Operators can recall lessons at any time to refresh knowledge
Some common lessons will be delivered on-site to allow direct interaction with instructors and other operators

The LMS will act as a common repository where operators are invited to share material useful for training
Payload training responsibles will coordinate this data collection
Wikis and forums will be available for discussions
News about ExoMars training will be available on the LMS as prime distribution medium

The amount of lessons required for certification is related to mission tasks assigned to the position
Lessons are implemented with increasing specialization
Material will be available for refresh at any time using the LMS, with cue cards and quizzes

The Columbus project defined a training point of contact in each scientific group
It was very useful and should be defined for ExoMars as well
The position should support the ROCC Training Lead in training preparation and certification activities

However, we are teaching you something about the other experiments
We would like you to support us to prepare the instructional material about your experiment
