A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTORDear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thanksgiving this year, no doubt, will not be like the many Thanksgiving celebrations or meals we have had in the past. For some, it might be because a loved one is no longer with them. For others, it might be that a relative or friend is spending it in the hospital. For others, the celebration may just be limited to a very select few. We can count many reasons why it will be rather different this year.

Still, Thanksgiving might be unlike past years for positive reasons. This Thanksgiving might truly invite us to reflect on and take stock of the many blessings we have taken for granted. It might move us to appreciate even more life in all its dynamic glory and mystery. It might also get us to pay more attention to the delightful connectedness we have with everyone in this world. This Thanksgiving may just move us an inch closer to God!

With the clergy and the staff of St. Cecilia, I would like to extend to you, your family, and all your loved ones a blessed and happy Thanksgiving! May it be a day that resounds with gratitude for all the we are and for all that we have.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Francis Macatangay

SHARING SUNDAY 2020www.SaintCecilia.org/Sharing-Sunday

In order to protect the families and those who give to them, we have decided to do Sharing Sunday differently this year. The Christmas Sharing Sunday program will be held online this year. SVDP invites you to sponsor a needy family living in our area by going to a special Sharing Sunday section on the St. Cecilia website. For privacy reasons, the exact names of the families will not be listed, but the basics will – family size, ages, and gender. You simply pick a family, and with a credit card, make a donation on their behalf. Vincen-tians will then take your donation, purchase a gift card for that amount, and make sure that it gets to your adopted family. The form will be available for family selection starting Friday, November 27th, and will be up for one week or until all families are picked, closing on Friday, December 4th.

Additionally, there will be a second collection during Masses on December 5th and 6th for the Sharing Sunday program.

WARMTH SHARING MINISTRYScarves for Houston’s Needy

Fall is just around the corner and cool weather will soon follow. The needy people of Houston will be praying for your assistance this winter to stay warm, so please pick up your knitting needles or your crochet hook and LET’S MAKE SOME SCARVES AND HATS!

Please consider joining this “warmth sharing” ministry this year. If you are not inclined to knit or crochet, how about do-nating some YARN for the ministry. People making the scarves and hats can always use some assistance with supplies. We would also take your donations of store-bought hats and scarves to be delivered with the ones we make. We need the items to be delivered to the church office and Colleen Bryse by November 24th. This will allow us to deliver them for sharing before it gets cold. If you have any questions, please contact Linda Kuper at [email protected]
