Featuring: Panel discussion with Lorri Koster, CEO of Mann Packing Company, and Devry Boughner Vorwerk, Senior Policy Advisor at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, and moderator Adrienne Laurent, Chief Strategic Communications Officer, Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System

Significance: Statistics support that a college-educated woman is more likely to become financially self-sufficient and pursue a meaningful career. The education level of a mother is a strong indicator of the success her daughters and sons will have as adults. WELI provides the 4 keys: resources, education, social support and mentorship.

When: Thursday, September 29, 2016 ~ 5:30 -8:30 p.m.

Where: Tehàma Golf Club, 25000 Via Malpaso, Carmel, CA 93923

How: Support the important work of the WELI program by sponsoring and attending the Women’s Education and Leadership Institute Forum. Both sponsorship opportunities and individual tickets are available.

Background: Volunteer leaders identified a significant need to support women in their pursuit of an education and career. Two lead gifts through IMPOWER and Bruce Taylor of the Taylor family helped launch the program. The WELI program is in its fifth year. This summer, our 150th student will graduate from the comprehensive program that combines a scholarship award of up to $2,000, one-year of mentorship, and participation in a three-day program focused on leadership and life skills workshops.
