Re: Logistics of _______________________ performance.

Please confirm the date, time and location.________

As you can see, I’ve enclosed:

1) bookmarks for promo at your checkout desk

2) a poster that you’ll be able to copy and plaster all over town (or feel

free to make you own)

3) a newspaper pyramid story that they can cut from the bottom; feel free

to add anything you want to champion at the library

4) photos

5) a 30 second radio spot.

6) Sample letters of invitation to area organizations.

My portion of the program will be 60 minutes.

You may like a presentation of the colors by (?) VFW and/or American

Legion, Boy/Girl Scouts (optional, this will add time to the program – your

choice).

I have two formats:

1 2

Meeting Room or Stage Gym

7’x 7’ screen

19’ x 15’ billboard floor map

7’ x 7’ screen

In either case I’ll need electricity. My screen has a daylight face so we won’t

need to dim the lights. In a meeting room I have my own “taxi”

loudspeaker. I have my own mikes. In a gym I’ll plug in to the gym’s sound

system.

Call me if you have any questions: 405 517 4612 (don’t leave a message as

old fogies don’t know how to do anything but answer a call).

The _______________________ will present an hour program of

stories, slides, maps, and facsimiles on the story of World War One on

(date)_______(day) ____________ (time)________at

(their location)_______________________.

August 2014 marked the one- hundredth year observance of the start

of hostilities that lasted for four years and cost countless lives.

The “War to End All Wars” should never have happened. John

Hinkle dons the uniform of a World War One general, and will take the

audience step by step through the twists and turns of three cousins, the

Kaiser of Germany, the Czar of Russia, and the King of England, as they

slipped into the quagmire of political alliances dragging France, the

United States, and others into situations much as the world is experiencing

today.

John is no stranger to the state’s libraries and schools, with 30 years

of library puppet shows and as an artist-in- residence storytelling in

schools, plus a one man show depicting Governor “Alfalfa” Bill Murray

during Oklahoma’s centennial.

He will tour the state during the next four years ending in 2018 on the

11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month (the precise time of the armistice

of World War One on 11-11-11 1918)

2014-2018), and we have secured an hour program with one of

Oklahoma’s premier story tellers called “The Story of World War

One”.

John Hinkle, past president of the Oklahoma Territorial

Tellers, toured the state during our Oklahoma centennial as the

irascible Governor Bill Murray. He has also engaged the state’s

children as an entertainer for 30 years doing puppet shows in

Oklahoma’s public libraries and schools.

John, in WWI full dress uniform, has assembled slides

throughout his one hour presentation plus posters, books, song

sheets, bibliographies and models of military hardware from the

WWI area.

your post.
