Tech Tip 1These floor mats are side specific. Be sure you have the driver side mat.

Step 1Place the driver side floor mat on the driver side floor.

Step 5Place the floor mat on a clean work surface.

Tech Tip 6These are the sections we cut away for the Samurai we were working with. However, it is totally up to you as to where you make your cuts.

Step 6Cut away the unwanted sections using common paper scissors.

Note: For best appearance, make cuts in the bottom of the grooves.

Caution: Only cut away sections you are absolutely certain you will not need. You can always remove more sections, but you cannot add them back. Take your time and do it right the first time.

Step 8Once you are satisfied with the fit, remove the floor mat and cut out the locating holes using an X-Acto knife or something similar.

Step 7Place the floor mat back in the vehicle to check for proper fit. If additional cutting is needed, remove the floor mat, make the cuts and test fit again. Repeat the test fitting and cutting procedure until you are satisfied with the fit.

Tech Tip 7Only cut out the bottom part of the hole as shown here.

Step 9Reposition the floor mat.

Step 11Peal back the floor mat and punch a hole in the carpet using an awl.

Step 10Insert a permanent marker in the hole marking the location of the floor mat anchor.

Step 12Screw the anchor into the carpet. Orient the hook of the anchor facing toward the rear of the vehicle.

Step 13Slide the mat over the anchor hook as shown.

Step 16Repeat Steps 1 through 7 on the passenger side floor mat.

Step 14Repeat Steps 8 through 13 on the other (or Right) anchor.

Step 15If installed, remove the storage tray by removing (2) bolts using a 10mm socket and sliding the tray rearward.

Step 18If your Samurai has a tray and you want to keep it, you could make a cut in the floor mat for the tab to extend through.

Tech Tip 17Bending the tab.

Tech Tip 16 This shows the sections we removed for our installation. It is totally up to you as to which sections you remove.

Step 17This tab is for supporting the tray that mounts below the glove compartment. Our Samurai did not have the tray so we bent this tab up against the firewall.
