Team, Just talked to Cathy Gen Lowenberg’s Secretary and he may be able to do a (:45 conference Call if not then the only other time is1:30. I will communicate the same to my gang at HQ who asked for the call I assume at this point Bart Johnson Will Not be on thecall however DEP Under sec Lunner will be. Should I say Ron will be the lone participant on the Conf Call once I get it set up?

The fusion center will be called My comments have been we don’t know who this guy is (I assume this is still true)Second we don’t know why he would say he is reporting to the fusion center. Other then there may be regional guys (RIGS) whomayhave talked to him. THEY MENTION WAJAC in the text! Who in WAJAC could they be talking about? Ron are you in town and the acting Director?

I may need to get someone with the front office to discuss this if someone is available. This could kill us

FORT LEWIS EMPLOYEE INFILTRATED ANTIWAR GROUP, REPORTED TO FUSION CENTER.McClatchy (7/31, Pauloski) reports, "A Yale Law School faculty member and military law expert said he is disturbedby allegations that Fort Lewis employed a civilian who spied on an Olympia-based anti-war organization." Eugene R.Fidell "said such a practice appeared to violate the Posse Comitatus Act." McClatchy notes, "Last week, members ofOlympia Port Militarization Resistance presented evidence that John J. Towery, a civilian employee of Fort LewisForce Protection, infiltrated the group using an assumed name and conducted surveillance of its members for abouttwo years."

CQ (7/31, Stein) reports on its "Spy Talk" blog, "A Fort Lewis spokesman confirmed that Towery was employed onthe base but would offer no additional information because he 'performs sensitive law enforcement work with theinstallation law enforcement community.'
