SIGN PANEL:OPTION 1:Decorative shape panel to be boxed aluminum with custom extruded aluminum cap and raised border.OPTION 2:Decorative shape panel to be high density urethane with custom formed cap and raised boder.

1. All text will be outlined for digital output. See general note #17, sheet WS0.1.

2. Use all capital letters for “LOUDOUN COUNTY”. Raised flat formed letters to be high density urethane and securely attached to face of sign panel. Letters to be painted Metallic Gold.

3. “Welcome to” and “EST. 1757” to be P3 (light green) and painted/silk-screened onto sign panel face.

4. All reinforcement shall be internal to sign panel. No fasteners, fittings or brackets shall be visible on sign face. All exposed fas-teners, fittings, and brackets on sign shall be painted so as to be inconspicuous.

MOUNTING:1. Sign face to be mounted to masonry sign base, refer to WS2.1.2

for stone wall details and specifications. a. Masonry base to be constructed of concrete block with

a fieldstone veneer. Fieldstone veneer to reflect historic characteristics and pattern of stacked fieldstone walls found throughtout the county.

b. Architectural precast shall be used for the masonry base coping. Color of precast coping to coordinate with colors of stone veneer.

2. Sign fabricator/installer to provide installation details for the attachment of sign panel to the masonry base, see GENERAL NOTES, #6, WSO.1.

3. Sign fabricator/installer shall determine proper windload requirements for sign. Sign mounting shall be so constructed as to hold sign in a proper and permanent position.

4. Sign locations/installation shall be coordinated with representative of Loudoun County.

reinforcement shall be painted green, P2 to match back of sign. 2. Silk-screen colors over sign face as indicated. Back of sign to be painted green, P2.3. Border to be 3/4”, high intensity reflective sheeting. 4. All type shall be outlined. Digital files will be provided to fabricator/installer as an Adobe

Illustrator EPS file. See GENERAL NOTE #17, WS0.1.

MOUNTING:1. POST - Holophane - North Yorkshire Series, catalog number AOLXXXXX-NY10/17-

CIS/BLACK or a comparable product, with invisible mounting system. Post is designed with bracket for mounting of sign panel and decorative brackets. Post shall have a 4” round finial.

and directional arrows shall be 3M Scotchlite High Intensity Reflective sheeting.3. Sign Message Panel: Use .125 aluminum sign base with rounded corners as shown (provided as eps file). Pantone

colors to be silkscreened over 3M Scotchlite High Intensity Reflective sheeting. Reinforce sign as needed. Back of sign to be painted P2 (Pantone 350 C) to match green background on front of sign. No through bolts visible on sign face.

4. Provide one-inch 3M High Intensity Reflective sheeting border on edge of sign face as shown.

MOUNTING:1. Ground-mounted sign supports shall meet Virginia Department of Transportation’s breakaway standards and shall be

breakaway as required.2. Sign posts, foundations, and mountings shall be so constructed as to hold signs in a proper and permanent position, and

to resist swaying in the wind or displacement by vandalism. Installation shall meet existing Virginia Department of Transportation’s specifications and regulations for the proper installation of signs.

3. The sign posts will be 6”x8” pressure treated square wooden post/s painted to match P3 with exterior, satin, Benja-min Moore Paint: # 522, Dried Parsley.
