ExecutiveSummaryThepurposeofthisproposalisafundraisingeventforalocalcharity.TheeventwillbehostedbyastudentorganizationatTheUniversityofTexasatDallasandsponsoredbyoneormoreareacompanies.Allproceedsfromthefundraisingeventwillgototheoncampusorganizationandlocalcharity.BackgroundHeartsofDoveisanonprofitstudentorganizationattheUniversityofTexasatDallas.Theorganizationsmissionstatementistohelpprevent,educate,anderadicatedomesticviolenceandraiseawarenessinthecommunity.Domesticviolenceisthewillfulintimidation,physicalassault,orotherabusivebehaviorperpetratedbyoneintimatepartneragainstanother.Itisalmostneverreportedandoftenexcusedordenied.Itisanepidemicthataffectsindividualsineverycommunity,withdevastatingconsequencesthatcrossesgenerations.TherearetwentyvictimsofdomesticviolenceeveryminuteintheUnitedStates.Everyyeartherearethreemillionchildrenwhowitnessdomesticviolenceintheirhome.Oneinthreewomenandoneandfourmenwillexperiencedomesticviolenceintheirlifetime.Themostcommongroupaffectedarewomenbetweentheagesofeighteenandtwenty.ProposalWeproposetoholda5KRunandRavefordomesticviolence.ThiseventwillbeheldtoraiseawarenessandmoneyforHeartsofDoveandthecharitytheysupportGenesisWomensShelter.TheeventwillbeheldinOctober2015,ontheSaturdayattheendofS.A.F.E.week,whichwillbescheduledbyHeartsofDove.Therunwillbeapurpleglowrun,whichwillstartarounddusk.TheravewillincludebetweentwoandfourDJs,allperformingforfortyfiveminutestoonehour.TheeventwillbeheldoncampusatTheUniversityofTexasatDallas.Theeventwillbepromotedby,flyersandbannersatgymsandothercommunitylocationsaroundtheDallasFtWorthmetroplex,aswellasontheUTDradioand93.3FM.

SponsorsWewillhavefourlevelsofsponsors.ThehighestlevelwillbeHeartsofGoldSponsors,thesesponsorshaveagreedtodonateover$2,500inmoneyandproducts.BothTomThumbandBBCMotorsportshaveagreedtoparticipateatthislevel.Thesesponsorswillgetlargebannerswiththeirlogoonitpostedalongtherunroutetohighlighttheirinvolvement.Theywillalsohavelargecolorlogosincludeonthetshirtgivetoeachrunnerandvolunteer.ThenextlevelisPlatinumandincludessponsorsthathaveagreedtodonateover$1,000inmoneyandproducts.LifetimeFitnessandtheCityofRichardsonaresponsorsonthelevel.Thesesponsorswillhavetheirlogoonhalfbannersattheracetopromotetheirinvolvement.ThenextlevelisPremierandincludessponsorsthataredonating$500inmoneyandproducts.TheseincludeChocolateAngel.Thelowestlevel,Gold,willincludesponsorsthatdonate$50inmoneyandproducts.StaffingRequirementsStaffingfortheeventincludevolunteersfrombothHeartsofDovemembersandthestudentbodyofTheUniversityofTexasatDallas.Weprojectthatfiftytosixtyvolunteerswillbeneeded.Volunteerswillberesponsibleforsettingupforrunandrave,registeringrunners,handingoutrunnerpackages,sellingextraitems,workingstationsalongthe5Kroute,checkingraveattendees,aswellascleaninguppostevent.StaffingwillalsoincludeUTDpoliceforsecurityandroadclosures.
