Step 1 — Battery Tube Adapter for Li-FePO4 Batteries

If you want to use the Li-FePO4 batteries that come from Batteryspace (they are white and slightlyshorter than the Trustfire 26650s) you will need this adapter.

This adapter comes in all 2.6 kits with serial numbers 1200 and above.

If you have a 2.5 or 2.6 kit with a serial number below 1200 and want to use these batteries, youcan order this adapter on our webstore.




Step 2

You will need the following:

2x polyfuses, 4x battery terminals(button style),2x acrylic adapters

Superglue

Soldering iron/solder

Helping hands are helpful :)

Hobby knife

Step 3

Sand both flat sides of the acrylic part shown here for better hold for the glue.




Step 4

Super glue the button terminal asshow, with the small hole at thebottom of the slot.

Note that it is at a slight angle. Thisis because the polyfuse has feet thatare going to fit through the holes atthe bottom and the feet are offsetfrom the center on each side.

You don't need much glue.

Step 5

Once the glue dries, bend the legs of the poly fuse in opposite directions as shown.

Insert one of the legs through the small hole in the battery terminal as shown.




Step 6

Bend the leg over the top like so.

Put the other battery terminal on theopposite side, threading the otherleg of the poly fuse through the hole.

Superglue it as well.

Bend the polyfuse leg on this sidetoo.

Step 7

Once the glue dries on the other side, solder the legs to the surface of the battery terminal.

Use a lot of heat for this to make sure there's a good solder joint.




Step 8

Charge your batteries.

CAUTION! The Trustfire charger werecommend has two settings (3.0Vand 4.2V). Charging your batterieson 4.2V can destroy the batteries.

Set to 3.0V for the Li-FePO4batteries!

Step 9

Some of the Batteryspace Li-FePO4 batteries don't make good contact with the cell above them.

You can see the positive terminal in the picture doesn't poke out very far from the top of theheatshrink.

The negative end of the battery is even worse, below the heatshrink.

When they go into the tube they might not make good contact.




Step 10

To fix this, simply cut some of the heatshrink away from the bottom of each of the batteries asshown

Step 11

The battery adapter is complete and can be put into the tube at the front. Make sure the leadcoming from the battery tube's positive endcap terminal runs through the slot on the bottom of thebattery tube adapter. Look at the picture for a good insertion.
