Criteria for project tiering
Prioritization Team: Kollin Higgins (King County)
Tyler Patterson and Nik Novotny (Tacoma Water)
Paul Schlenger (Environmental Science Associates (ESA))
Two basic criteria: Size of project area Chinook habitat value
Tier 1 = high priority/critical to achieve recovery in each subwatershed and will be the primary focus of WRIA funding.
Tier 2 = moderate priority projects; eligible for WRIA funding with demonstrated urgency; clear alignment with salmon recovery goals
Tier 3 =lower priority; associated with Chinook recovery and compliment broader recovery efforts in the subwatershed; not eligible for WRIA funding
Active solicitation for project information
Engaging partners to submit more details on project concept and expected funding requirements
Aligned with the 2020 grant round process: Inclusion in the 2020 Salmon Habitat Plan Inclusion in the 6 year Capital Implementation
