Workshop 1 = “I Hope I get It” – Auditioning Techniques.....October 4, 6:00pm-9:00pm Have you ever said, “I would love to audition for a play, but I don’t think I have what it takes”? Have you ever auditioned for a play and didn’t get the part? Then this workshop is for you. Steve will focus on the steps of the audition process. Whether you are a frequent audition attendee or a complete novice, this three-hour class can improve your chances at getting the part…or at least calm those butterflies before each audition. Special Guest: A special guest director from the 2010-11 season will share what he/she looks for from actors at auditions. Here’s your chance to be “in the know”. Workshop 2 = “Fine Tune Your Instrument” – Voice & MovementOctober 18, 6:00pm- 9:00pm Have you been bitten by “the bug”? Or maybe it’s just been buzzing around you for a while. Either way, you’ll want to attend this three-hour workshop. Through the use of simple theater games, physical and vocal warm-ups, role-playing, and short scenes, we will explore the art of acting in a safe, supportive environment.

Workshop 3 = “Now What Do I Do?” – Improv for Actors...........November 1, 6:00pm-9:00pm

In this fun-filled three-hour workshop, Steve will teach participants how to be positive, listen to others, take risks and work within a team environment. Participants will learn improv games and be encouraged to use their imaginations as they begin to develop characters, build scenes and invent ideas without using props or costumes.

Meet your facilitator:Steve graduated from the University of Stevens Point-WI, with a BA in Theater Arts and Film. He and his family moved to Wisconsin Rapids 15-years ago, and he has been involved with WRCT since. Steve has honed his directing and acting skills in more than fifty stage productions, and he’s excited to bring his learning to WRCT and the Central Wisconsin community.
