“Hosanna in the highest!” that ancient song we sing, for Christ is our Redeemer, the Lord of heaven our King; O may we ever praise Him with heart and life and voice, and in His holy presence eternally rejoice! Opening Scripture Nelson Deal-Steinert Isaiah 50:4-9a The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. Morning by morning he wakens— wakens my ear to listen as those who are taught. The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, I did not turn backward. I gave my back to those who struck me, and my cheeks to those who pulled out the beard; I did not hide my face from insult and spitting. The Lord GOD helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame; he who vindicates me is near. Who will contend with me? Let us stand up together. Who are my adversaries? Let them confront me. It is the Lord GOD who helps me. You are here, moving in our midst. I worship You. I worship You. You are here, working in this place. I worship You. I worship You.

Welcome & Call to Worship Rev. Dr. Tim Eichler Interim Senior Pastor

(You are) Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness, my God, that is who You are. (2x)

Opening Song of Praise You are here, touching ev'ry heart. I worship You. I worship You. You are here, healing ev'ry heart. I worship You. I worship You.

Hymn #248 Hosanna, Loud Hosanna

Hosanna, loud hosanna, the little children sang; through pillared court and temple the lovely anthem rang: to Jesus, who had blessed

them close folded to His breast, the children sang their praises, the simplest and the best.

You are here, turning lives around. I worship You. I worship You. You are here, mending ev'ry heart. I worship You. I worship You.

(You are) Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper,

Light in the darkness, my God, that is who You are.

That is who you are. (4x)

From Olivet they followed, a happy, joyous crowd, their large palm branches waving, and singing clear and loud; the Lord of men and angels rode on in

simple joy, and welcomed all the children: each little girl and boy.

Even when I don't see it, You're working! Even when I don't feel it, You're working! You never stop, You never stop working.

You never stop, You never stop working. (2x)

The company of angels are praising Thee on high, and mortal men and all things created make reply: the people of the Hebrews with palms before Thee

went; our praise and prayer and anthems before Thee we present.

(You are) Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, To Thee, before Thy passion, they sang their hymns of praise; to Thee, now high exalted, our melody we raise: Thou didst accept their praises- accept the praise we bring, who in all good delightest,

Thou good and gracious King!

Light in the darkness, my God, that is who You are. (2x)

That is who you are. (4x)

Message from God’s Word Rev. Dr. Tim Eichler Regime Change Mark 11:1-11 When they were approaching Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find tied there a colt that has never been ridden; untie it and bring it. If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ just say this, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here immediately.’” They went away and found a colt tied near a door, outside in the street. As they were untying it, some of the bystanders said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” They told them what Jesus had said; and they allowed them to take it. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it; and he sat on it. Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields. Then those who went ahead and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our ancestor David! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Then he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple; and when he had looked around at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

Prayer of Confession & Assurance of Pardon Rev. Dr. Tim Eichler Interim Senior Pastor Jesus Christ, constant Love, mixing love and hope together, you pave the way to the kingdom, but we prefer to stub our toes on the potholed roads of temptation. You would touch the cup of grace to our parched lips, but we seem to hunger for the ashy taste of bitterness. You beg us to learn the songs of salvation, but we hum along with the chorus death plays in the background of our lives. Have mercy upon us, God of Holiness. As you come to us, you bring healing for our brokenness, peace for our troubled lives, hope for our doubting minds. May we empty ourselves of everything which keeps us from following you, so we may receive these gifts, and more, from Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Call for Offering Rev. Dr. Tim Eichler This is the time when we give ourselves, all that we are, all that we have, to God’s service. Prayers of the People Nelson Deal-Steinert Fraser Fellow & Pastoral Intern

Hymn of Response Hymn #249 All Glory, Laud and Honor

King of Heaven, be our vision. (4x)

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart! Naught be all else to me save that Thou art. Thou my best thought by day or by night. Waking or

All glory, laud, and honor to Thee, Redeemer, King, to whom the lips

of children made sweet hosannas ring: Thou art the King of Israel, Thou David’s royal Son, who in the Lord’s name comest,

the King and blessed one!

sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom and Thou my true Word, I ever with Thee and Thou with me Lord. Thou my great Father, Thy child I’ve become,

Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

King of heaven, be our vision. King of heaven, be our vision.

Riches I heed not, nor the world’s empty praise. Thou mine inheritance, now and always: Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,

High King of Heaven, my treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won! May I reach Heaven's joys, O bright Heaven's Sun. Heart of my own heart whatever befall,

Still be my vision, O Ruler of all.

King of Heaven, be our vision. (4x)
