So your room is too small for your PS3, or maybe your Xbox 360 finally gave in and flashed you the ole’ red ring of death – don’t sweat it! It really isn’t as bad as you think! So, what’s the fuss all about? The Educational Gaming Commons (EGC) has opened up a brand spankin’ new gaming lab in Findlay Commons that’s completely free for you to use. Seriously – free! And they’ve got all the major equipment for you to use; Xbox 360, PS3, Ninendo Wii, and PC machines to feed your inner World of Warcraft addiction. All you need is a valid Penn State ID+ card and you’re in – from 8:00 a.m. to midnight (sorry, all-night raids will have to take place elsewhere!), seven days a week, in room 6A of Findlay Commons. Check out the EGC’s Web site, http:// gaming.psu. edu/, for a list of available games and equipment. You’re right – As of late spring 2009, Blackboard Inc. purchased ANGEL Learning with plans to integrate it into its product line.

ANGEL Learning, the company that created ANGEL, Penn State’s course management system, told This Squirrel that there are no significant changes on the horizon. Blackboard Inc. will eventually combine the best of both systems into a single product. The time line for these modifications is pretty long-term, so don’t expect to see a lot, if any, changes in the near future.

For now, Penn State is focusing on the needs of students and faculty – keeping ANGEL as easy for you to use as possible.

If you do happen to have an issue with ANGEL, there are several ways you can go about getting help. The ANGEL Help and Information Guide, right within ANGEL itself, allows you to do a search for your particular issue. If that doesn’t work, you can always contact ANGEL support at [email protected].
