VISION
The central role of manufacturing within the global economic system is demonstrated by its capacity to trigger inclusive transformation and to have a multiplier effect on the increase of trade and on the creation of jobs in the service sector.
The World Manufacturing Forum is an open platform that aims at enhancing and spreading industrial culture worldwide, as a means to ensure economic equity and sustainable development.

SESSION 1Manufacturing industry as value added for society
Societal prosperity is shaped by key dimensions such as health, education, work conditions and political freedom. This session aims at debating the relationship between this categories and manufacturing development.
SESSION 2Innovation priorities by 2030 in the world
This session will explore how the worldwide industry is answering to the manufacturing megatrends, in order to satisfy the 2030 manufacturing global goals. The fourth industrial revolution demonstrates how key enabling technologies help to transform innovative ideas into new products and services.

SESSION 3International policies advancing manufacturing development and global cooperation
The session will discuss how to harness the full potential of the fourth industrial revolution to boost competitiveness in the global manufacturing industry by reinforcing international cooperation, promoting investment and advancing the proper application of technology.
SESSION 4Solving the manufacturing skill challenges: creating a skills marketplace
This session aims to assess how information on job evolution and skill requirements are used by countries to review and renew their education and training systems. Moreover, it will identify and discuss the development of national and international frameworks that support coordination between education and labour market.

SESSION 5Manufacturing as a powerhouse of emerging countries
The role of manufacturing in emerging countries is to create employment and wealth, overcoming the obstacles that hinder its development. The session aims to explore the current situation of manufacturing development in emerging countries and the importance of embracing the digital revolution.
SESSION 6The role of financial investment on manufacturing development
A fast-changing scenario such as that of the fourth industrial revolution should be accompanied by a modernization of relations between banks and business. This session aims at discussing the role of both traditional and alternative credit instruments to finance the activities of manufacturing companies.

SESSION 7Resource aware manufacturing: a circular economy to satisfy the sustainable development goals
The circular economy represents the most effective strategy able to integrate economic activity and environmental issues in a sustainable way. The session will present case studies and environmental strategies to demonstrate how a circular economy could benefit the environment while boosting competitiveness and resilience, aiming at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals
SESSION 8Cyber industrial revolution: shaping the future factory
The session presents the emerging technologies that could define the future of manufacturing, investigating at the same time the challenges of the digital industrial revolution such as standardization and cyber security.

The event will take place in the villa’s convention center, while the gala cocktail, working lunches and coffee breaks will be held in the historic building.
