Objective:
•SWBAT identify connections from the text to themes presented in Private Peaceful.
Question: How do specific people and events contribute to the themes of the text?
Themes
•Bravery courageous behavior or character
•Cowardice Lack of bravery
•Loss of Innocence forced to quickly grow up, usually by experiencing a traumatic event
•Self- Conviction The act of convicting one's self
Theme Activity
•With your groups, you will have 7 minutes to travel from one poster to another containing a different theme.
•As a group, you will come up with 2 points from the text that show the given theme. Page numbers are needed.
•Not only are you writing on the poster, you are also writing these things on your Handout.
