WORLD KIDNEY DAY 2017 and SUPINE PCNL WORKSHOP, MANIPAL

WORLD KIDNEY DAY is celebrated on the second Thursday of March every year to

raise awareness of the importance of kidneys to overall human health. This year it

was celebrated on 9th March 2017, the theme being KIDNEY DISEASE and

OBESITY.

Members of KUA were requested to participate in their own small way in their

place over the week and spread awareness among the public about KIDNEY

DISEASE and OBESITY.

The theme was beautifully brought out by various members of our association all

over the state and the country. There were Marathons, Walks, Screening Camps,

Radio talks, Displays in malls and many other special events.

The South zone team of Dr Kannan, Dr Laxman Prabhu and Dr Dilip Dhanpal, in

association with Dr Arun Chawla and others members of Urology Department,

conducted a unique and memorable, single theme based live workshop on Supine

PCNL at KMC Manipal on this day. Each and every member who attended the

program appreciated the arrangements as well as the ease of the live procedures

performed by Dr. Guido Guisto from Milan, Italy.
