Introduction to Indoor Wireless Coverage (DAS)
4G/LTE Ready Solutions for Enhanced
In-Building Wireless Coverage
What is DAS?
Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is a way to efficiently distribute wireless
connections inside a large building. It is used to eliminate "dead zones" by
routing radio frequency (RF) signals through fiber or copper cabling from a
single base station to multiple antennas located throughout the building.
Advantages:
• Brings coverage to areas lacking cellular signals (such as car parks, high rise
buildings, stadiums and airports)>> increase revenue
• Better coverage inside the building >> increase Cellular usage >> increased
revenue
• Better quality of service for corporate customers >> positive impact on
customers preservation.
• Off load capacity from outdoor cellular sites >> big savings on building new
outdoor sites
The ROI for DAS system is less than 1 year for the cellular operator

Iridium Satellite Phone Connectivity
Introduction to Satellite Phone Repeaters
Iridium Solution
• Foxcom’s pioneering RF over Fiber
solution is a cost effective alternative to
coax cable. It provides seamless indoor
coverage by connecting passive outdoor
antennas with indoor repeaters,
modems and handsets.
• The fiber link enables Iridium satellite
handset users to make multiple and
concurrent calls within any size building
or underground facility.
• Bi-directional L-band signals are
converted into optics indoors and
outdoors allowing for antenna extension
of more 3 km.
Iridium Solution Description
• Foxcom’s fiber optic repeater solution consists of an IP65 rated outdoor
unit (ODU), a 1RU indoor chassis with dual power supplies, dual outdoor
Iridium antennas and dual indoor ceiling mount antennas.
• L-band fiber optic transmitters and receivers are located indoors and
outdoors and convert incoming and outgoing RF signals into optics and then
back into RF.
Iridium: Typical Applications
• Underground Facilities
• Large Buildings
• Military Bunkers
• Submarines
• Ships and Oil Rigs
• Disaster and Emergency
Communications
• Remote Expeditions
Foxcom’s Vision
Foxcom’s vision is to lead the global market in
providing: quality, innovative fiber-based
communications; to guarantee excellent customer
service; and to build a high performing environment
where individual differences and contributions of
employees, customers and business partners are
respected and valued.
