Custom-made worktops, called PERSONLIG, let you create a kitchen that’s perfect for your space. LAMINATE WORKTOPS pre-cutOur pre-cut laminate worktops are durable and affordable. They're resistent to scratches and stains and are maintenance free. They come in a range of predetermined combinations of length, depth and thickness as well as a variety of combinations of colour, edge colour and edge shape.

Good to knowClean using a soft cloth or sponge and warm water with a mild, nonabrasive detergent. Avoid furniture polish and strong cleaning agents. Scratches and stains are more visible on dark coloured and high-gloss worktops so they require more frequent care.

Worktops in solid wood brings a warm, natural feeling to your kitchen. In our pre-cut series, 2.8 cm thick worktops are available in beech, birch and oak. In our PERSONLIG custom-made series, 4 cm thick worktops are available in beech, birch and oak. Whichever wood you choose, you’ll get a unique and durable work surface that, with a little care, will age gracefully.

Beech is a hard wood with an even grain. It’s durable and often used for furniture and worktops. When exposed to sunlight, beech ages from a light red tone to a more rose-brown colour.

Birch is fine-grained and pale in colour with a satin-like sheen that darkens with age. It often has knots or heartwood in cream or light brown which will give your worktop a unique and distinct natural look.

Oak is a very hard wood, making it a popular choice for worktops and interiors. Its colour ranges from light brown to a rich reddish–brown and it darkens with age.

Good to knowWe pretreat all our solid wood worktops to give them a good start at life in your kitchen, but they require another coat of protection on installation and occasional care to keep them in good condition. To restore the worktop surface and protect it from stains, apply a wood treatment oil (like BEHANDLA) 3–5 times a year. Areas where the worktop may dry out, such as around the sink and hob, should be treated more often. For daily cleaning use a moist cloth or sponge and some mild detergent and wipe to dry.

Caring for your wood worktopYou don't need to treat KARLBY or MÖLLEKULLA as often as a solid wood countertop, "but when the surface of the worktop starts to wear or become dry, treat it with wood treatment oil. For daily cleaning, use a soft cloth or sponge and warm water with a mild, nonabrasive detergent and wipe to dry. Avoid furniture polish and strong cleaning agents.

Our acrylic worktops give you fantastic design opportunities. Custom-made to your dimensions, you can also include a fully integrated sink in the same material for a distinctive design expression. The core of our acrylic worktops are made of particleboard making the worktop more affordable, lighter to transport and easier to handle.

Good to knowThe work surface is less scratch and heat-resistant than laminate or quartz, but the smooth, non-porous surface is simple to keep clean using warm water and a mild detergent. Make sure to avoid contact with harsh solvents and dry the worktop after use. Lighter coloured worktops show stains and scratches more visibly so need careful treatment. Small scratches and stains can easily be removed with the included cleaning kit. You can order the length and depth you need, as well as holes for the sink, tap and hob. You can also choose an under-glued sink.

PERSONLIG Cleaning KitTo remove small scratches and stains as well as polish the surface we’ve included a cleaning and polish set. The cleaning kit also renews and helps protect the worktop surface.

If you choose a quartz worktop you’ll get a work surface that’s extremely durable, has high impact strength and is scratch resistant. We construct our quartz worktops with 95% natural quartz crystals (one of the hardest materials in nature) and 5% high-quality polymer resins which combined make the surface smooth, non-porous and easy to keep clean. Quartz always looks the same too, which gives you a uniform look if you have several worktops in your kitchen. Our quartz worktops are only available as part of a full IKEA installation. The worktop sizes will be templated in your home during the kitchen installation, please be aware there will be a period where there will be no worktop fitted, while the quartz worktop is being manufactured. This should be no more than 7-10 days.

Most of our sinks are reversible, so you can choose which way to install them. So, if you choose an asymmetric double bowl sink, you can have the larger bowl on the left or right.

SINK This style differs from our top mounted sinks because it doesn't require you cut a hole in your worktop. Instead, it fits between worktop pieces.

SINKSHow you choose your sink is closely tied with how you’d like to use it. A large single bowl is great for washing big pots for example, while a double bowl is practical to do two things at once (like washing up and prepping food.) A sink with a drainer is helpful if you hand wash often, and works well keeping liquids off your worktop too.

Most of our sinks are reversible and don’t have a pre-drilled hole for the tap so you can position them to suit you. You can use our FIXA tool kit to make a make a hole for your tap (see page 33). You can choose between sinks, inset sinks or under-glued sinks. Sinks and inset sinks you install yourself, and under-glued sinks come with your PERSONLIG custom-made worktop. (See page 30).

Start by measuring your worktop from the corner where it attachs to the wall. Make sure to make your measurements alongside the wall and always start from the same point. When measuring the depth, start from the wall and measure out. Don’t forget to add 1.5 cm for an overhang too.

If you need to measure for a freestanding worktop (For a kitchen island for example), simply start from one end and add 3 cm extra for an overhang.

Kitchen mixer tapsFree 10-year GuaranteeWhat is covered under this guarantee? The 10-year guarantee is valid for all kitchen mixer taps at IKEA. This guarantee covers defects in materials and workmanship. This guarantee applies to taps put to domestic use only. What is not covered under this guarantee? This guarantee does not apply if the products have been used in a corrosive environment. What will IKEA do to correct the problem? IKEA will examine the product and decide if it’s covered under the guarantee. IKEA will then, at its discretion, either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. In these cases, IKEA will be responsible for the cost of repairs, spare parts, labour and travel for IKEA repair staff or service engineers, provided that the product is accessible for repair without IKEA incurring additional expenditure to gain access. This will not apply in cases where repair work has not been authorised by IKEA. Any defective parts removed in the course of repair works will become the property of IKEA. If the item is no longer sold by IKEA, IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement. IKEA will decide at its discretion, what will constitute an appropriate replacement.

Conditions for the guarantees The guarantees are valid from the date of purchase at IKEA (or date of delivery by IKEA if later). The original purchase receipt (or email confir-mation if ordered online) is required as proof of purchase.

Exclusions The guarantees do not apply to products that have been stored or assembled incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misu-sed, altered, or cleaned using incorrect cleaning methods or cleaning products. The guarantees do not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents. The guarantees do not apply if products have been placed outdoors or in a humid en-vironment or if the products have been used for non-domestic purposes (unless otherwise stated). The guarantees do not cover consequential or incidental damage suffered by any person. The guarantees are for the benefit of the original purchaser of the product.
