The informal workshop offers a hands-on introduction to the techniques of Social Network Analysis (SNA) with emphasis on its use in historical research. It will survey the application of SNA to various datasets drawn most-ly from ancient and medieval documents and will take participants through the steps of performing SNA, from structuring a database to visualization of the data to ana-lysis and interpretation of the historical evidence.

The mornings (9:00-10:30) will be devoted to more formal presentations, which will be followed by hands-on practical sessions. Please feel free to join at any time, but we appreciate if you state your in-terest by registering. To do so please contact Dr. Julia Lougovaya at [email protected].
