Introduction

SahasraT Architecture & Environment

Parallel Programming Models

Performance Monitoring and Tuning

Lab Sessions

Day-1: Session is targeted at relatively

new HPC users. The program introduces

Basic System Architecture of SahasraT,

Environment, Policies and parallel

programming models.

Lab sessions are intended to provide

relevant exposure to commonly applied

techniques.

Day-2: Program targeted at all new and

experienced HPC users - The Intel

Software Group will be providing

introduction to latest parallel

processing architectures followed by

simple techniques to improve

performance of code by incorporating

parallelism and optimizations, quickly

using Intel compiler, tools and libraries.

SahasraT is a Cray system installed and commissioned at SERC. Cray conducts workshops to discuss

best practices, computational trends in variety of computational areas. This workshop intended to

encourage HPC usage at IISc., potential users need no prior experience for attending the workshop.

Agenda starts with very basic introduction and moves towards getting the users to using Cray &

Intel programming environments, use of scientific libraries and tools for code optimization.
