Provincial Health & Safety Requirements
Each province has guidance regarding workplace health and safety posting requirements. These requirements by province can be found here.
Occupational Health & Safety Program
All employers can benefit by implementing an occupational health and safety program and making the following information available to their employees:
• Health and safety policy
• Workplace violence and harassment policy
• Information on where employees can access provincial occupational health and safety (OHS) act and regulations (unless your province requires you to post a hard copy of the legislation)
The requirements for maintaining a formal health and safety program differ by province and depend on:
• The number of employees at your workplace• The level of risk to which they are exposed
However, in any workplace across Canada, there are specific health and safety posting requirements that need to be followed regardless of the number of employees you have or your requirement to have a formal health and safety program. See below for some examples of items that you should consider posting on the Health and Safety board in your facility.

TIPS FOR POSTING:
• Postings should be placed in a common area that employees access daily
• Postings should be easy to read from a distance
• Postings should be updated regularly and not become stale (this demonstrates the importance
of the documents)
• Posting area should be brightly coloured to attract attention
• The posting area should be dedicated solely to health and safety and not combined with other
materials or information
• Manager(s) should reference the posting area, train on its contents and refer to the
postings periodically
