IntroductionThis document explains how to use FieldMaster Supervisor.FieldMaster Supervisor is an app that runs on your smart phone or tablet, allowing you to:■ Manage your team remotely, and collaborate with its members while you are away from the

office.■ Find technicians and tasks so that you can review, measure and audit:

■ Safety compliance■ Completed work■ Driving performance■ Customer satisfaction

By using the app while you are out in the field, you can manage the day-to-day operation of your team, collaborate with its members, and capture data for the purposes of reporting and analysis.Together with FieldMaster Technician, FieldMaster Supervisor provides end-to-end support for interaction between supervisors and technicians while they are on the move.

System requirementsFieldMaster Supervisor runs on smart phones and tablets that satisfy the following system requirements:■ Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above.■ iOS 8 and above.You must enable the “Location Services” options on your mobile phone so that FieldMaster Supervisor can identify your location.FieldMaster Supervisor uses the phone, email and mapping apps that are configured on your mobile phone. You have to set up an email app on your mobile phone to be able to send emails from the app.

Note:

Dates and times are displayed in the formats that are set up on your mobile phone.

Getting startedWhen access to the supervisor app has been enabled for you by an administrator, you will be notified by email. You can then download the mobile application from your mobile phone’s app store.

Logging inWhen you start FieldMaster Supervisor, the Login screen appears.

1 Enter your user name and password:■ If you are a GeoManager user, then you can use your existing GeoManager user name

and password.■ If you are an existing mobile user, then you can use your mobile user name and

password.2 The currently selected region is displayed at the bottom of the Login screen. If you need to

change it: tap Change region; tap the correct region; and then tap Set.3 Tap Login.

Using the Welcome screenThe Welcome screen appears after you log in to FieldMaster Supervisor. It provides access to all of the app’s functionality.

The options that you can select from the menu are described in the following table:

Menu option Description

Team Tasks View the tasks pertaining to your team.For more information, see “Viewing your team’s tasks” on page 4.Note: This functionality is only available if Work Management is enabled on your customer account.

Teams View details of your team members.You can view all team members, or the team members who are currently nearest to you.For more information, see “Viewing team member details” on page 6.

Locate Nearby Locate resources (teams, key locations, and vehicles) that are within a certain distance of a specified location.For more information, see “Locating nearby technicians, key locations, and vehicles” on page 18.

Viewing your team’s tasksFieldMaster Supervisor allows you to view the tasks that are relevant to your team. You can see tasks that relate to yesterday, today, and up to six days in the future (a total of eight days). For example, if today is April 10th, then you will be able to see tasks for April 9th through to April 16th. Up to 500 tasks will be displayed (in order, from the oldest to the newest).

Note:

This functionality is only available if Work Management is enabled on your customer account.

Add Key Location Add a key location of the specified type.The types of key location that you can add depend upon your business and could be, for example, warehouses or company offices.Key locations are known as landmarks in GeoManager.For more information, see “Adding a key location” on page 21.

Audit View and create audit information for your team members.You can use the audit functionality to capture test and photographic information when you carry out a field inspection.For more information, see “Auditing a technician’s work” on page 24.

Alerts View notifications that contain vital information about your team members’ activities.For more information, see “Managing alerts” on page 28.

Settings View the help, send feedback about the app, or report an issue with the app.For more information, see “Settings” on page 29.

To view your team’s tasks

1 On the Welcome screen, select Team Tasks.The Tasks screen appears. Tasks are categorized according to status.

2 Select the category of task that you would like to see:■ At risk

Tasks that are not currently in progress, are said to be at risk if:■ For ‘start by’ tasks, the current time is past the time by which the task must have been

started.■ For appointed tasks, the current time is past the appointment end time, minus the

task duration. For example, if a task has a duration of 30 minutes and the appointment window is between 10 AM and 11 AM, the task will appear in the At Risk tab at 10.30 AM (if it is not already in progress).

■ For ‘complete by’ tasks, the current time is past the ‘complete by’ time, minus the task duration.

■ UnassignedThese tasks have a commitment date of today, but are not yet been assigned to a team member.

■ RejectedTasks that have a commitment date for today, and have been rejected by a technician.

Tip:

You can refresh the list by swiping down it.

Viewing team member detailsYou can view the details of technicians who belong to the teams that you manage. In GeoManager, a team is known as an organizational unit.You can also see the technicians who are currently nearby.

To view technician details

1 On the Welcome screen, select Teams.The Teams screen appears.

2 By default, the list of teams that you manage is displayed. Expand one or more teams to see the technicians who are in those teams.

3 To filter the teams and technicians that are shown, tap the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen. Select whether you want to search for a technician or a particular team.

■ To search for a particular technician, select Search by Technician and enter the technician’s name. The list will be filtered as you enter the name.

■ To search for a team, select Search by Team and enter the name of the team. The list will be filtered as you enter the name.

4 Tap a technician’s name to see their details. The Technician Details screen appears. See “Technician Details screen” on page 10.

To view nearby technicians

1 If you want to view technicians who are nearby, tap Nearest.A list appears showing the technicians who are currently near to you.

Technician Details screenThe Technician Details screen contains the details of a particular technician. It appears when you select the technician on the Teams screen.

From the Technician Details screen, you can:■ Contact the technician, see their location on the map, and navigate to them from your current

location.■ View daily logs of the technician’s activities.■ View the path that the technician has travelled during the past week.■ View the tasks that have been given to the technician over the seven days.■ View a history of the audits that have taken place for the technician.■ View the driving performance of the technician.

Contacting and finding a technicianThe blue bar on the Technician Details screen contains icons that allow you to contact the technician, and to find out where they are.

Viewing a technician’s daily logsDaily logs show the timesheet activities and tasks that have been performed by technicians who use FieldMaster Technician.

To view daily logs

■ On the Technician Details screen, select View Daily Logs.The technician’s activities for today, as recorded by FieldMaster Technician, are displayed.

Icon Action

Call the technician’s mobile phone.

Send a text message to the technician’s mobile phone.

Send an email to the technician.

Show the technician’s current location on the map.

Show directions to the technician’s current location.

You can view the daily logs as a list, or on a calendar. You can swipe to navigate between different days, allowing you to view the technician’s logs for the past seven days.The activity data for a particular technician can be sent as a list of comma-separated values (a CSV file) in an email.

Viewing the path that a technician has travelledYou can see the path that a technician has travelled at any time during the last week, up to and including today.

To view a technician’s path of travel

1 On the Technician Details screen, select View Travelled Path.The path that the technician has travelled today appears on the map as a breadcrumb trail.

■ The point at which the technician started off is marked as ‘1’.■ Locations where the technician stopped to carry out a task have a suitcase icon next to

them. To view details of the stop, tap the icon.A callout appears on the map, showing the breadcrumb details.

2 To see the path that the technician followed on a previous day, tap the left arrow at the top of the screen.

3 You can tap the funnel icon to filter the display so that it only shows points at which the technician was moving, or had stopped.

Viewing a technician’s tasksYou can view the list of tasks for a technician for the past week.

To view a technician’s tasks

■ On the Technician Details screen, tap View Tasks.The list appears of the tasks that have been dispatched to the technician today.

Viewing and sharing a technician’s audit historyFieldMaster Supervisor allows you to view a list of the last three audits that have taken place for the technician.

To view and share audits that have taken place

1 On the Technician Details screen, tap View Audit History.

The list of audits appears.

2 Tap an audit to see more details.The audit details appear, comprising the audit information, the auditor’s signature, and attachments.

3 To share the audit details with someone via email, tap the icon at the top-right of the screen. A new email that contains pre-populated audit notes, the auditor’s signature, and captured images will open. You can send the email to the person with whom you want to share the audit details.

Monitoring the driving performance of a technician

The Safety Scorecard enables you to monitor the driving performance of the technicians that you manage. It provides information on a technician’s driving based on the key ‘events’ of braking, acceleration, speeding and turning. Each time the technician performs one of these events, it is judged to be acceptable, moderate or hard.

The number of acceptable, moderate and hard events that the technician performs is used to calculate their safety score.

You can use the app to view the technician’s safety score and compare it against the average for your team.

Information is based on a rolling week and shows the score for the previous 7-day period.

Note:

The Safety Scorecard is available only if your organization has subscribed to this feature.

To view the driving performance of a technician

1 On the Technician Details screen, tap Safety Scorecard.The technician’s Safety Scorecard appears:

The Safety Scorecard displays the following information:

● The technician’s overall safety score (%) for the last week (the previous 7 days).● The technician’s overall safety score (%) for the previous week.● The total distance travelled for the last week.● The technician’s team position this week, based on the technician’s safety score.● The technician’s team position last week, based on the technician’s safety score.● The average safety score for the technician’s team.● The total number of acceptable, moderate and hard acceleration events, together with the

overall acceleration score (%).● The total number of acceptable, moderate and hard deceleration events, together with the

overall deceleration score (%).● The total number of acceptable, moderate and hard turning events, together with the

overall turning score (%).● The total number of acceptable, moderate and hard speeding events, together with the

overall speeding score (%).The overall safety score is based on a weighted average of the four key events: acceleration, deceleration, turning and speeding.The safety scorecard also includes a daily driver safety tip, based on the lowest scoring metric for the previous week. This tip will appear each time the scorecard is accessed, but, once read, can be closed by tapping the cross that is in the red circle to the top right of the tip.

Locating nearby technicians, key locations, and vehiclesYou can use FieldMaster Supervisor to locate teams, key locations, and vehicles that fall within a specified distance of your own location, a particular technician’s location, or a specific address.

To locate a nearby technician, key location, or vehicle

1 On the Welcome screen, select Locate Nearby.The Find screen appears.

2 Select the resources that you want to locate:■ To search for nearby technicians who belong to particular teams, tap Teams, choose a

team, and then tap the left arrow to return to the Find screen.■ To search for specific types of key locations that are nearby, tap Key Locations, choose a

key location type, and then tap the left arrow to return to the Find screen.Note: If you do not select any teams or key locations, the Add Key Location screen will be displayed, allowing you to add a key location to use as the basis for the search.

■ To search for vehicles that are nearby, tap Vehicles, and then select the organizational units that contain the vehicles that you want to return in the search.

3 To set the distance within which you want to find technicians, key locations and vehicles, drag the numbered scale to the left or right. You can search within a radial distance of between 1 and 500 miles from a specified location.

4 Specify the location from which you want to find nearby teams, key locations, and vehicles:■ My location

The app will search for teams, key locations and vehicles that are within the specified distance of your current location. This option is selected by default.

■ A TechnicianThe app will search for teams, key locations, and vehicles that are within the specified distance of a particular technician. If you select this option, the Teams screen will appear. Select a technician from the list, and then tap the left arrow to return to the Find screen.

■ An AddressThe app will search for teams, key locations and vehicles that are within the specified distance of a particular address. If you select this option, the map appears. The location pin is set to your current location by default. Tap Select to use the current location, or tap the magnifying glass icon at the top-right of the screen and enter an address, then tap the left arrow to return to the Find screen.

5 Tap Locate at the top-right of the screen.The Locate Results screen displays all the teams, key locations, and vehicles that match the specified criteria.

6 Tap All to see all the results together, or tap Teams, Key Locations, or Vehicles to display specific results.

7 Tap a tile to display the details of the technician, key location, or vehicle:

Adding a key locationYou can use FieldMaster Supervisor to add a key location of a specific type. A key location is a landmark that has been assigned to an organizational unit in GeoManager.The types of key location that you can add depend upon your business and could be, for example, warehouses or company offices.

To add a key location

1 On the Welcome screen, select Add Key Location.The map appears. The add location pin is set to current location by default. Select Add Key Location to use the current location, or tap the magnifying glass icon at the top-right of the screen and enter an address, and then tap Add Key Location.The Add Key Location screen appears.

2 Tap Type and select a key location type from the list.

Tap the left arrow to return to the Add Key Location Screen.3 Tap Organization and select a team to which the key location should be assigned.

4 The Location field contains the address that you selected earlier. To change the address, tap Location, and enter new address details.

Tap the left arrow to return to the Add Key Location screen.5 The Fence type field specifies the shape of the geofence that surrounds the key location, and

defaults to a circle of radius 200 feet. You can change the radius of the geofence by entering a new value in the Radius field.A geofence is an imaginary boundary around the key location, which is used to determine when a technician enters or leaves the vicinity of the location.

6 Tap Start Date to specify the date upon which the key location will be added to the system. A calendar appears, allowing you to select a date.

Optionally, if you only want the location to exist in the system for a certain amount of time, you can specify an end date too. If you leave the End Date field empty, the location will exist within the system indefinitely.Tap the left arrow to return to the Add Key Location screen.

7 Tap Done. You will see a message telling you that the key location has been added successfully.

Once added, a key location can be found by tapping Locate Nearby on the Welcome screen. See “Locating nearby technicians, key locations, and vehicles” on page 18.

Auditing a technician’s workWhen you audit a technician’s work, you can use FieldMaster Supervisor to record the audit information. You can also view the audit information for all the teams and technicians that you manage.

To view a technician’s audit information

1 On the Welcome screen, select Audit. The Audit screen appears.

2 Select a technician.

1 On the Welcome screen, select Audit. The Audit screen appears.2 Find the technician for whom you want to record the audit information.

4 Enter notes about the audit in the Enter audit details area at the top of the screen.5 Tap the Supervisor Signature area, then use a stylus to write your signature in the

Supervisor Signature screen that appears. Tap Done to return to the Audit Details screen.

6 Optionally, you can attach up to five supporting images to the audit. Tap the icon in the Attachments area at the bottom of the screen.The Attachments screen appears.

■ To use your mobile phone’s camera to take a picture that you would like to attach to the audit: tap Take photo; take the picture; and tap Capture.

■ To attach an image that is already on your mobile phone: tap Choose picture; select the picture that you want to attach to the audit; and tap Capture.

A thumbnail image of the picture will appear in the Attachments area at the bottom of the Attachments screen. If you decide that you don’t want to attach the picture after all, you can tap the cross at the top-right of the thumbnail to remove it.

7 Tap Done.The audit will be saved, and can be viewed in the technician’s audit history. See “Viewing and sharing a technician’s audit history” on page 14.

Managing alertsFieldMaster Supervisor alerts you when exceptional events occur. You receive alerts whenever one of the standard GeoManager exceptions (for example speeding and mileage-related events) is triggered, and you are on the list of people to be notified.■ When you start the app, a message will be displayed on the screen if new alerts have been

received.■ When the app is running in the background, new alerts are shown in the same way that

notifications from other apps are displayed on your phone.

To view an alert

1 On the Welcome screen, select Alerts. The Alerts screen appears, displaying details of alerts that have been triggered within the last 24 hours.

2 Tap an alert to see the Alert Details screen, which contains further information about the alert. To view, on the map, the location where the event occurred, tap the icon at the top-right of the screen:

■ On the Welcome screen, select Settings. The Settings screen appears.■ Tap About to view the version number of FieldMaster Supervisor. Tap the text “Terms of

use” to view the terms of use for the app.■ Tap Legal to view the legal notices of the third-party components that are used in

FieldMaster Supervisor.■ Tap Report Issue to provide feedback on any of the components of FieldMaster

Supervisor. ■ Tap Help to view information about how to use the app.

Reporting issuesThe Report Issue functionality enables you to report any issues that you have with the app to thesupport team.

To report an issue

1 Tap Settings.2 Tap Report Issue.

3 Select the component for which you want to report an issue. Check that your contact details are correct so that the support team can contact you:
