Collaboration Projects (successful between small groups)
Pawel Danielewicz Transport models, pion production, symmetry energy
Chuck Horowitz Exploring Neutrinosphere, a new HIC initiative for IMP and NSCL/FRIB
Bao-An Li HIC theory collaborations
Y.G. Ma RHIC STAR collaborations; TAMU personnel exchange
Betty Tsang HIC Symmetry Energy (experiment & theory); Transport model; SpiRIT collaboration; personnel exchange
Zhiyu Sun Pion production at IMP; HIC@NSCL
Zhigang Xiao Symmetry Energy, Fission at IMP, SpiRIT collaboration, NSCL experiments

YingXun Zhang collaborative projects on EOS of Asymmetric matter; personnel exchange
FAIRGSI
Symmetry Energy Project
NSCL,RIKEN, FRIB, RAON LCSR
In addition to Symmetry Energy study, a new HIC initiative for IMP and NSCL/FRIB to exploreExploring Neutrinosphere with multifragmenation
Multiplet Observables to study Symmetry Energy
Top Wish list for SE study both in China and USTPC for pions
CEE Phase I (Sun et al)
CEE : CSR External-target Experiment (兰州外靶实验 )
At the forward angle, the probe of π-/π+ is more sensitive to the symmetry energy.
Target
START
TOF Wall
Neutron Wall
MWDC(Multi-Wire Drift
Chamber)
Magnetic Dipole
Future plan:CEE phase II conceptual design ~$20 M
Magnet DipoleBuilt for FAIR by Lanzhou
MRPC (used in STAR)( Multigap Resistive Plate Chamber )
At the forward angle, the probe of π-/π+ is more sensitive to the symmetry energy.
TPC时间投影室
For NSCL/FRIB: HRTAC-AT (~1 M for TPC, & 1M for electronics)
Adopts much of the design of the AT-TPC• Solenoidal magnetic field (using portable
MRI magnet).• MICROMEGAS gas amplification
Standalone operation in S2 vault for EoS and other reactions studies
Operation in S3 vault for Giant Resonance and charge exchange reactions
Differences:Beam enters through MICROMEGASCathode allows passage of charged particle ancillary detectors downstream.
Day 1 exp. :SRIT TPC inside SAMURAI Dipole
Allows particle to travel to downstream detectors. Designed to be used with charged particle and neutron TOF walls, such as NEBULLA and NeuLAND.
Rails allow TPC to be readily inserted and removed from SAMURAI magnet chamber
:Trigger scintillators use MPPC readout
Wish list for FRIB Equipment
:Trigger scintillators use MPPC readout
$20 MDipole Magnet

Discussions:
Task force1. Survey the needs from working scientists (not just
the workshop participants which are biased and not representative of the community).a. Needs of the Chinese Physicistsb. Needs of the US Physicists
2. Best practice for successful collaborations3. Find consensus on projects of mutual benefits and
interest that fit into the agencies vision and mission.4. Get funding and support.
