Submit your poetry, short fiction, and nonfiction. Submissions should be poems, short stories, or creative nonfiction pieces that the student writer imagines Dr. Martin Luther King would like to hear. The works need not mention Dr. King directly but should seem, to the student, connected to his legacy. Winning entries for each category and age group (grades K–5, grades 6–12, college) will be published in a commemorative journal by Carthage College and receive a modest cash prize. A selection of winners will be invited to read their work at a commemorative concert given at Carthage College on the evening of January 18 in celebration of Martin Luther King Day 2014. “Words for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” Contest In Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2014
