There will be no exceptions for late applications and no emails from parents instead of theapplication from now on. In order for you to have off campus lunch, Ms. Arrington needs a signedhard copy of the application. They are due to Ms. Arrington by 3:30 PM on February 2, 2015. There will be a box in the mainoffice that says off campus lunch forms that you may drop them off to. The box will be removedat 3:30 PM sharp on the due date.The third term lunch stickers will be given out on February 9, 2015 during STEP. You must have your ID to get your sticker.

Tuesday, January 27th at 5:30 pm in 205. Parent planning meeting for Wilson's InternationalNight on Thursday, April 9th. Please come help us plan this annual event, (which has beencelebrated for more than a decade?)! This night gives our students and their families anopportunity to showcase the many cultures represented in our school community. It's successdepends on your assistance!

The evening includes displays of authentic costumes, short stories, instrumental and vocal music,poetry and dance. A reception with a buffet of international foods provided by the students andtheir families follows the entertainment.

Engineering/STEM Camp

The United States Air Force Academy and Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)offers an Engineering/STEM camp designed for high school students who excel in math,science and technology courses and are interested in pursuing engineering, architecture, or arelated field in college or a military service academy. This one week camp is high energy andhands-on for students from across the country and around the world. The camp is lead by aprofessional staff of engineers from both private industry, the Air Force, other uniformedmilitary services, USAFA cadets and college students from across the country. This will be our 15th year running the camp at USAFA in Colorado Springs, CO. This programfeatures very real engineering activities and challenges. The camp theme is "Build thenDesign". The idea is to let the students learn by doing and then reinforce the concepts afterthe practical application with the supporting concepts. Some of the activities during the week-long camp include: place a concrete beam and destructive testing, water purification, build anirrigation system, material testing, shed construction, AFA laboratory tours, problem-solvingactivities and many more... These tasks challenge students to use their imagination, as well as their problem solving andteamwork skills. This year's camp runs from 25 June to 1 July 2015, information on the application processand eligibility can be found here.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple choice test, administered by the UnitedStates Military Entrance Processing Command, used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United StatesArmed Forces. It is offered to American high school students when they are in the 10th, 11th and 12th grade,though anyone eligible for enlistment may take it.

Although the test is administered by the military, it is not a requirement that a test-taker with a qualifying scoreenlist in the armed forces.

The ASVAB allows to student to learn more about their career strengths and provide one measure of student'sskills and abilities. The ASVAB Score, combined with the information about the student's interests, achievementsand other test results, may help students to select appropriate occupations for career exploration.
