Note on Confidentiality Information that a student scholar brings to members of the

team is kept confidential, with the exception of certain conditions. For example, when a student scholar reports he or she is experiencing suicidal and/ or homicidal thoughts, sexual or physical abuse , or engaging in self-destructive/ life threatening behavior, the mental health team member takes appropriate steps to ensure the student scholar’s safety. Additionally, it is the team member’s legal responsibility to contact the student scholar’s parents and inform them of their adolescent’s condition. Our ultimate goal as mental health providers is to restore the

scholar’s emotional well-being in order for him or her to be productive and excel in both the classroom and the community.
