What is The Abbeyfield Kent Society?

The Abbeyfield Kent Society is one of the largest providers of care to older people in Kent, caring for over 450 residents within 16 homes throughout the county. Abbeyfield Kent is a not-for-profit registered charity and housing association, and has been providing care for older people since 1967.

During this time the Society has grown considerably and has a skilled work force of fully trained, committed and dedicated carers, together with an extensive network of over 200 volunteers within the homes.

We aim to:Care is at the heart of the Society and the welfare, happiness and fulfilment of residents is fundamentally importantto its operation.

Day care centre

Woodgate is one of our residential care homes and provides a safe, comfortable and homely environment, with accommodation for up to 42 older people. The home has a skilled team of staff that are committed to providing the highest quality care to the residents.

The home is laid out across two floors, with lounges and dining available for residents to use on each floor. The large garden is planted with a range of flowers and shrubs, making it a pleasant place to relax in the summer.

The home offers each individual resident the level of support they need to maintain their lifestyle, which includes assisting with personal care,dietary needs, social and spiritual interest and maintaining contacts with friends, relatives and the community. Events and entertainment are organised on a weekly basis. There is also easy access to outside services, such as GPs and opticians.
