These ministries help all the parishes and missions throughout the state of Idaho that make up our diocese. The goal for this year’s Appeal is $2,725,000. Our parish share of this goal is $26,931. Once we reach 110% of our goal, we will receive back all funds collected over that amount. We invite everyone to participate in the Idaho Catholic Appeal through a commitment of prayer and a pledged gift to the Appeal. All registered parishioners will be receiving a letter from the Bishop with a brochure and pledge form. February 18, 2018 - 1st Sunday of Lent “After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God….” - Mark 1:14 Do you ever think about how difficult it must have been for Jesus to come into Galilee, knowing that John had just been arrested for teaching the same message that Jesus was proclaiming. It must have taken great love and trust for Jesus to do what the Father had sent Him here on earth to do. In the same way, following a life of stewardship takes great love and trust from us. God of mercy, You have given us this special time to reflect on our lives, embrace the Good News and draw closer to You. During this season of Lent, help us use this time to fast and pray, be more generous and show others how to live in Christ. Let us see each day of this season as a new opportunity to renew our lives and gain a deeper appreciation of your active presence in our hearts and our community of faith. Give us the grace to see Your face in others, especially the poor and those who suffer. And through your Spirit, enkindle in us the fire of Your love so that we may be better stewards of Your redeeming work throughout the world. We ask this through Jesus, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.
