Introduction

This guide contains local, state, and national resources for those seeking assistance with mental health and/ or substance use disorder. There are also resources for families, or loved ones of someone with a mental health and/or substance use disorder. Resources are listed by physical address, but may serve the entire county and beyond. The guide is not inclusive of all resources, but can

be a starting point to support those in need.

Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY): Macy is helping to make Marshfield the best place to live and raise a family. MACY’s work focuses on reducing and preventing underage drinking, prescription drug abuse, heroin use, marijuana use and methamphetamine use and reducing mental health disparities. Marshfield Clinic Health System – Center for Community Health Advancement (CCHA) and more than 200 members representing more than 40 Marshfield-area organizations, supports coalition work. This work is guided by a steering committee.

Join our mission: • Steering Committee: oversees the work of committees and

decides coalition priorities.• Drug Task Force: develops and implements an annual

prevention plan focused on prevention of prescription drug abuse and heroin, marijuana, and methamphetamine use.

• Marshfield C.A.R.E.S. (Community Alcohol Resources forEstablishments and Servers): a program that recognizesthe practices of local establishments that prohibit youth from accessing alcohol and promotes responsible alcoholuse among adults. Local establishments include MarshfieldClass A or B liquor license holders.

• Marshfield Area Parents Network (MAPN): unites parents,guardians, educators and the community in an effort topromote and maintain a safe and healthy, alcohol and drug free environment for youth.

• Mental Health Group: focuses on reducing child and adolescent mental health disparities in the Marshfield area.

• Marshfield and Columbus Leadership Alliance (MCLA):youth representatives from the public and private schools.

Healthy People Wood County (HPWC): HPWC is a partnership of more than 400 organizations and individuals committed to making Wood County a healthier place to live, work, and play. There are four coalitions dedicated to addressing policy, systems, and environmental changes in Wood County with an emphasis on equitable strategies that ensure everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible: AOD Prevention Partnership, Brighter Futures, Mental Health Matters, and Recreate Health. For the purpose of this document, AOD Prevention Partnership and Mental Health Matters descriptions are included below. AOD Prevention Partnership: focuses on reducing and preventing substance use related to underage drinking, unhealthy adult alcohol consumption, prescription drug abuse, methamphetamine use, heroin use, and marijuana use.

The Wood County Drug Task Force is an initiative of the AOD Prevention Partnership that formed to address the growing concern around the drug epidemic and to plan ways the community could work together to address those concerns using the five-pillar approach:

1. Education/Prevention 2. Harm Reduction3. Law Enforcement4. Treatment5. Workplace

Mental Health Matters: focuses on optimizing mental wellbeing and reducing mental health disparities through decreasing stigma, enhancing access and reducing barriers to services, and improving integration between behavioral health and primary care providers.
