It is my great pleasure to welcome all the participating players and officials to ththe 10 FINA World Women's Junior Water Polo Championships to take place

from August 19-25, 2013 in Volos (GRE).

With the participation of our best junior teams, this occasion will be once more a landmark in the promotion of this discipline. Water polo, the oldest Olympic team sport, is conquering more audience, more media and television interest, and is generating substantial work and attention from the FINA Member National Federations, clubs, players and referees.

Team spirit and individual search for improvement are the two basic characteristics of Water Polo. Such philosophy will be present during this competition and the participating players will be an example of fair-play for the youth and all water polo fans worldwide.

I take the opportunity to express my gratitude to the Hellenic Swimming Federation, the Organising Committee and the local authorities for their warm hospitality in Volos and enthusiastic spirit. I am sure that our best junior water polo teams will keep an excellent memory of this competition. I am also certain that the championships will delight the fans and inspire the sport's future stars.

My gratitude also goes to all those involved in the promotion of this event, namely the spectators, media representatives and sponsors. Thanks to the players, coaches and officials for their hard work and excellent performances which enhance Water Polo's image worldwide.

The global sports community and millions of friends of Water Polo once again this summer will turn to the city of Volos.

We are confident that people will experience in Volos unique emotions on August 2013.

Nowadays, that Greece is in a deep economic recession, social and moral crisis, we are sure that during these days, human values and real sports ideals will appear once again.

Our city is ready to welcome, the best water polo athletes amongst 16 countries of the five continents worldwide, the Water Polo Community and of course, the members of the International Federation “FINA” and Hellenic Swimming Federation to whom we are grateful for their confidence to us, by entrusting our city to hold the organization of such an important event, the 10th FINA World Women's Junior Water Polo Championships, for the third consecutive year.

We are also grateful because they give us the opportunity to prove that the municipality of Volos, even in this difficult for our country period, is always present at major sports events and always ready to respond, both in terms of infrastructure and facilities, as and organizational, in any great challenge.

n August 2013 in Volos and throughout Thessaly, we expect to live great glory and we will offer special spectacle to water polo friends, in the competition venues, one opendoor pool “Iason Zigranos” and the second indoor pool in Nea Ionia “Vasilis Polymeros”.

Besides, our city has a long tradition in water polo and overall in sports with numerous international awards of our athletes.

Volos, is a city with rich sporting and cultural presence, a city where the Argonauts and Jason came from, a city with a dynamic tourism market, strong industrial and commercial tradition, University and research centers, the port, the beautiful mountain of the Centaurs, the unique natural and built environment and we promise to all a warm hospitality.We anticipate and expect to experience the culture and history of our city and everybody enjoy its rare beauty.

BY REGIONAL COACH Interurban coaches ("KTEL" buses)

are by far the most convenient way to travel

around Greece, as well as for intra-regional

Athens Liossion Station to Volos about 15 times

a day, as well as from Thessaloniki bus terminal

OFFICIAL VENUE OF ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

ACCREDITATION

European Union citizens do not need an entry visa for Greece. For all other countries, visas will be issued if requested in due time. Hellenic Swimming Federation will be sending invitation letters to participating Federations in order to help them to obtain their visas upon request.Take note that visa procedures may take up to a month and detailed data are requested, such as full names, passport numbers and exact dates of entry and departure from the country.

Please contact Greek consulates in your country to check current situation.

Doping control will be carried out according to FINA rules by ESKAN (Hellenic Anti-Doping agency) and test samples will be analyzed at the IOC/Wada accredited laboratory in Athens.

Transportation will be provided by Organizing Committee from International Airports of Volos, Thessaloniki (Makedonia Airport) and Athens (El. Venizelos Airport).

Accreditation will be provided to the team members entered to the final entry form, according to FINA quotas.

ACCOMODATION PROCEDURESAll reservations to be made through the Organizing Federation only, NOT THE HOTELS PLEASE.

Official local transportation will be given to all teams booking through the Organizing Committee.

Reservations are to be considered on first come first served basis. All prices are full board, breakfast and two meals per day.

The costs of extra services (phone, mini bar, pay TV, Internet, extra consumption at the restaurant) should be paid at the reception before departure.

Deposit of 50% of your reservation, including reservation for the referee must be sent by 10 JULY 2013 to the following account :
