And make provision for yourselves; the best provision is Taqwa. [Quran, 2:197]

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before

you so that

. (Al Baqarah 2:183)

WHAT IS TAQWA?

Although its equivalent can’t be found in English, it’s most often translated as God-consciousness or even fear of Allah, but this amazing virtue means much more! Taqwa comes from the root waaw-qaaf-yaa which points out to protecting, preserving, and guarding. If you have Taqwa, you do your best to protect and guard yourself against the displeasure of the Almighty!

RAMADAN AND TAQWA

What does this have to do with Ramadan?

While your mind might be occupied with thinking about how long the days of fasting will be, how you’ll occupy your children, and which food you’ll prepare beforehand, it’s time to stop thinking and ask yourself:

How is my Taqwa?

How is my relationship with Allah?

How can I make it better?

IMPROVE YOUR TAQWA

This Ramadan strive to have your heart fully

present. Know that all these activities— the

suhoors, the iftaars, the charity, the taraweehs– boil

down to one thing: your relationship with Allah

(swt).

Without Taqwa , Ramadan rituals have no meaning.

So re-connect with Allah (swt) in different ways.

PREPARE FOR RAMADAN

Pray the Sunnah prayers.

Spend time every day sincerely repenting to Allah.

Do adhkaar after salah and in the morning and evening.

Pray Qiyaam ul Lail (Night Prayer).

Pray the duha prayer.

Forgive others.

Recite Quran with understanding.

Making sincere Dua. Dua is the weapon of the believer.

STEPS TO MAKE DUA

Step 1 :Believe and get inspired

Step 2: Make a dua list

Step 3: Memorize your duas

Step 4: Start the dua habit

If you do not see results, don’t lower your standards, raise your Dua!

Allah ALWAYS responds to Dua, but it can be in one of three ways: Yes, Not
