Wolf Pack Press 4/5/13
Citation preview
The school year is in its final months, but your PTO still has some tricks
up their sleeves for all of you! Last month, we had a few events that
proved to be hits for all ages. Did you attend Sports Night? How did
your child(ren) like the assemblies? Whatever you participated in, it was
a success because YOU attended or contributed. Thank you!
Who won the favorite books contest last month? The votes are in…
Fly Guy vs. Splat the Cat – The winner is Fly Guy! Diary of a Wimpy
Kid vs. 39 Clues – The winner is Diary of a Wimpy Kid! Keep sending
in the Box Tops, Labels for Education and Ink Cartridges!
Can you believe our LAST Movie Night is this month? Wreck-It Ralph will be our final showing on
April 12. Come in your jammies, bring your blanket and enjoy the show!
Turn off the TV week is coming up at the end of the month. We have many activities planned for you including the
BOGO Book Fair, Culver’s Dinner with your teachers taking your order and serving your food, and the Ice-Cream
Social and Bingo night.
Have you taken the Illinois 5Essentials Survey yet? You have until Friday, April 12 to take the survey at https://illinois.5-essentials.org. The survey will only take a few minutes of your time, but provides a unique opportunity for YOU to have a role in improving Park. The data generated helps schools target resources, make decisions that help accelerate learning and test score gains, and guide state initiatives so that every student has a world class education.
PTO Elections for the 2013-2014 school year are coming up. Keep an eye out for nomination forms...we are always looking for inspiring and helpful parents to be a part of the PTO. Whether you stay at home, work full-time outside the home, or something in between, there are several tasks to fit your schedule and help make a difference at Park Campus! Consider becoming a member of the PTO!
Thank you for your continued support,
Your 2012-2013 Park Campus PTO Board Members

! Assemblies – March 1Grades K-2: Mousetrap MachineChildren enjoyed a 45-minute show combining science, math, and art to teach students how five simple machines work – the lever, wheel, pulley, inclined plane, and screw. By the show’s close, these simple “balloon” machines are were put together to create a more complex “Rube-Goldberg style” mousetrap, to catch a runaway mouse. They were all surprised and delighted to see that Mrs. McCall was the mouse!
Grades 3-8: State Test Taking Pep RallyThe Never Ending Radical Dudes captured the attention of all the students. They were given some last minute strategies and encouragement for the ISAT test in a humorous way. An exciting, competitive, and fun game show was held at the end of the assembly with students from each grade level as contestants!

Obstacle courses, Wii, Twister, board games, Round Lake Park District sponsored dodgeball, floor hockey, soccer, and basketball games, Avon Township Youth Baseball and Softball sponsored fast pitch, Grayslake Colts sponsored football toss and cheerleading clinics, and wrestling within a bubble ball were offered to everyone in attendance. Even the parents and Mr. Melamed got in on an adult vs. children dodgeball game! P.S. - the adults won!
