FLOATING SEA LILY

Dramatic, stunning, and sophisticated subtle gold plays against the distinctive dark grey Holzmaden shale. At first glance, a prehistoric flower earning the name sea lily, crinoids were actually echinoids, related to starfish and sea urchins. Floating along the prehistoric sea attached to driftwood, crinoids would feed with feather like tentacles, resembling a flowerhead. The beauty of the crinoid form is heightened by a layer of pyrite mineralization adding a luxurious gold hue. Disappearing into a complementary custom steel frame, this show stopper is ready to grace the walls of the finest space.

Gossamer wings captured in the gentle beiges of the distinctive Solnhofen limestone, this dragonfly is a beautiful contrast of the ethereal in stone. Such fragile specimens are rarely preserved in the fossil record due to the extraordinary conditions required for fossilization.
