Imagine if your excavator
became 25 percent
more efficient over night.
What would you do
differently tomorrow?
profitable• (of a business or activity) yielding profit or financial gain.• beneficial; useful: he’d had a profitable day.
”With a tiltrotator I’m simply more flexible than the other guys. My machine is normally the first on a new site and the last one to leave.”
This is not for everyone.
Honestly, this brochure is not for everyone.
If you believe you are as efficient as you can get,
or think your utilization is as high as you can achieve...
and you are satisfied with your profitability….
…then you can stop reading now.
This is not for you.
However, if you would like to be;
– more efficient
– recognized for delivering a proper job
– safe at your work site
– more environmentally friendly
or simply want to increase your profitability, then the Steelwrist product range is for you.
Ask someone who knows about efficiency.
25 percent efficiency improvement is a bold statement, we know that.
If you use a tiltrotator then you already know what this is about. However, if you are not a user we fully understand that you would like some solid evidence before you decide what to do.
We propose that you ask a skilled operator who has worked with a tiltrotator for some
time:
- Ask about how much work he can do without spending time moving the machine
- Ask how useful the tiltrotator is when there is limited space
- Ask about how he gains from always having the right work tool on the excavator and how it feels to be able to change a bucket in seconds
- Ask if he is ever instructed to do things that operators without tiltrotators can’t do
- Ask how often he get repeat jobs from previous customers
- Ask if he is able to take on more jobs than he would if he did not have a tiltrotator
and finally ask if he would consider working without it.
If you do your homework properly you will soon find out that 25 percent efficiency improvement in many cases is an understatement.
”With my Steelwrist I can do completely new things -It makes my life much easier.”
More than 90 percent of all excavators in Scandinavia between 3 and 25 ton are equipped with a tiltrotator. A large portion of jobs are taken with a fixed price. The more efficient you can be the more jobs you can do and the more money you will make.
Steelwrist - your foundation for earthmoving
efficiency.
With thousands of Steelwrists in the field it is well accepted amongst operators that efficiency will improve by 20 to 35 percent. The more complex the job, the bigger the efficiency gain.
In fact everything we do is about increasing your possibilities to be more efficient with your excavator. Your efficiency is our mission.
Steelwrist stands for:
Earthmoving efficiency: We work extremely hard to provide you with a product range that will allow you as an operator to become more efficient.
Quality in the details: We always go the extra mile for quality in the small details. We believe it will pay off in the long run.
Value for money: When you invest in a Steelwrist product we want you to feel satisfied about your decision. You will know that you got a solid product and a complete service for a fair price.
earthmoving• (construction) Designed to move large quantities of earth or rubble for civil engineering or building purposes.• (methaphorical) Of great significance.
efficiency• technical: the ratio of the useful work performed by a machine or in a process to the total energy expended or heat taken in. • an action designed to achieve this: to increase efficien-cies and improve earnings.
When you start using a tiltrotator you will soon notice that you are doing things differently. Instead of being restricted by the machine your own imagination decides how far you can improve.
The more skilled and experienced you get, the more you will appreciate the advantages of the Steelwrist tiltrotator compared with other products.
High tilt angle Thanks to the high tilt angle you will do the tasks faster and with a better end result. You will simply be more flexible and smooth as you operate your excavator. (Note: When we talk about tilting we actually mean real tilting power to be used in your digging movement. A Steelwrist is not a “set and dig” solution )
Low building height The low building height will give you better fuel efficiency and a more responsive digging experience as you maintain the break-out force and the optimized digging geometry.
Lower weightIncrease productivity by using the capacity for lifting material instead of lifting metal. This also gives you a better stability which is especially important if you have a wheeled excavator or a reduced tail swing. The low weight will give you better fuel efficiency.
The Steelwrist advantage.
”A tiltrotator is like a mobile phone - I can’t figure out how I managed without it”
doer• the person who does something• a person who acts rather than merely talking or thinking: I’m a doer, not a talker.
Historically we see that once you invest in a tiltrotator there is a 95% chance that you will buy a tiltrotator next time you change your excavator.
A solid product is a good start - but the tiltrotator also needs to fit your excavator. Too heavy and you lose stability and waste fuel. Too light and you will spend time and money on wear parts. The key is to choose the correct size for your excavator. Although the origins of Steelwrist dates back to the mid 1980’s, the current product range has been designed during the 2000’s taking into account the latest developments regarding digging forces, tonnage and reduced tail swing.
A perfect fit to modern
excavators.

Excavator weight (tonnes)
The devil is in the detail.
The two most common questions in new tiltrotator markets are about product durability and ease of use.
Lets start with product durability.
The small details are the backbone to a robust design. Real professionals require work tools that always work and cause as little trouble as possible. It makes life easier for you and for us.
This is how you benefit from our work to secure quality in the details.
n High durability through casted steel gearbox, truss structures and superior high tensile steel.
n Superior wear-and-tear resistance through high quality bushings, induction hardened piston rods and shafts.
n Smooth trouble free running through over-sized gear wheels, worms and bushings.
n Longer product life time through high end component selection.
optimise• make the best or most effective use of (a situation, opportunity, or resource): to optimise viewing conditions the microscope should be correctly adjusted.
We optimise for you.
Sometimes during the development of a product you need to make some tough decisions - and you need to be clear about your priorities. For us this has been easy.
Our top priority has always been to optimise for the individual excavator, whereas many of our competitors optimise for their own production.
This is how you benefit from our development focus.
n Superior smoothness and flexibility through higher tilting angle and low building height. We prefer having our engineers wrestling with this difficult task, than you wrestling with your diesel invoice.
n Superior hydraulic flows and low pres-sure drops. We prefer to have our engineers struggling with tough specifications, than you struggling with tools you can hardly use.
n Superior user friendliness of control systems. We prefer having our engineers thinking about optimal user interfaces than you thinking about how things work.
leader• the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country: the leader of a group.• a person followed by others • an organization or company that is the most advanced or successful in a particular area: a leader in the use of advanced equipment.
An operator who knows how to drive an excavator will normally learn to use a tiltrotator within a week. Improved efficiency will be seen within the first month.
XControl® for maximum safety and ease of use.
During the last ten years tiltrotator control systems have come a long way. XControl is today the most advanced control system on the market with safety functions based on dual processor technology and top of the line components.
Advanced and patented methods for fuel optimisation is integrated as well as a user friendly interface. Wheel steering or track steering can be added as an option.
User settings are easily made using the touch screen.
All of the above is obviously important, nevertheless the perfect control at your fingertips is achieved by the XControl joysticks. We have benchmarked fighter pilot joysticks to achieve optimised ergonomics and the possibility to use multiple functions simultaneously.
You deserve nothing less than XControl joysticks if you are a professional aiming for a real efficiency improvement.
Index finger roller for simultaneous usage
Design target:-Best ergonomics-Highest level of safety-Possible to run multiple functions simultaneously-Easy to install
Optimized angle and button positioning to reduce risk of repetitive strain injuries
Dual signal rollers for maximum safety.
Thumb rollers for comfortable operation
Robust travel switch for easy direction change
Dedicated S-type hitches for safety and performance.
A universal pin grab or a dedicated hitch system is the first thing to think about when you are deciding the way to go.
Both systems have merits, the universal pin grab hitch has the advantage of being able to use the original bucket. However, the pin grab hitch has the disadvantage of a high building height. Pin grabs are also heavy and have a narrow contact area on the bucket pins.
More modern systems like the dedicated S-type have the advantage that they are lower and lighter. This will over time save you money in fuel consumption. Thanks to a different geometry the S-type is a safer system where the locking ram does not absorb digging forces like in many of the universal pin grab hitch models.
We offer the pin grab hitch as an option on direct fitted tiltrotators. Thanks to the low building height the S-type hitch can also be offered as a “hitch on hitch” solution.
One-piece locking wedge for superior durability.
Oversized pin contact surfaces to minimize wear.
One-piece sideplate as part of the truss structure to optimize weight and strength .
Oversized casted bosses to distribute digging forces to the side plates.
The pins should be attached to both sides to form a truss structure .
Design target:-Best durability-Lowest building height-Easy to optimise for a certain excavator
The dedicated S-type quick hitch system is an open industry standard aimed at maximum safety and digging performance.
”SERVICE ÄR A OCH O – OCH JAG ÄR HELNÖJD.”
ULF ”SVARTEN” PERSSON, STOCKHOLM
Faster duty cycles and more material in each fill means lower fuel consumption compared to a traditional grading bucket.
“I never thought it would be such a big difference!”
Ever thought about the difference between a bucket and a great bucket? Many users haven’t.
We have.
A great bucket will feel light and cut through the material with ease. The material will roll on the inside of the bucket without getting wedged by strengthening plates or corners. You will feel the harmony between the exca-vators curl and the buckets way though the
ground.
At the end of the day this will result in faster duty cycle times and a lower fuel consumption, well in line with Steelwrists overall target.
In the Steelwrist S-type bucket you will find only high tensile steel together with
ultra high wear resistance cutting edges. Together with the tube structure and patented side fixing, the buckets can be made light yet still very strong.
A Steelwrist bucket will be the final piece in the pussle to put a new level of efficiency into play.
A bucket is more than just a bucket.
Maximimum strength by utilizing a patented tube design fixing
Faster duty cycle with a rounded interior design .
Minimize bucket resistance by progressive radius
Design target:- Minimal ground resistance- Maxmimum resistance to wear (others heavy duty = our standard)- Best weight/strength ratio- Optimised design for both small and large buckets
Smooth rotation ensured by tapered corners
We know that it’s not good enough with just a great product. Even the most experienced operators can break any tool. Things happen that you cannot foresee.
For us it’s important to solve the problem, quickly and without fuss. We always have spare parts in stock and we have a well established logistics system that will deliver any part you need in no-time at all.
Even the best products needs
service.
servicethe action of helping or doing work for someone :• an act of assistance: he has done us a great service • assistance or advice given to customers during and after the sale of goods: they aim to provide better quality of service.• the provision of the necessary maintenance work for a machine
