Foreword
Hello & Greetings!
As Fellows of Teach For Malaysia teaching in SMK Tengku Idris Shah, we would like to
introduce to you our very own Wishing Tree!
Our school is one of the 17 placement schools of Teach For Malaysia and is categorized as a
HIGH NEED SCHOOL.
This means that students of these schools may come from low income families. Some
students come from single parent families, some from broken families and some from parents
who may be from families where poverty has been an issue for generations.
Therefore, our mission as Fellows; is to help these students do better and move forward in their
lives via education. Hence, to do so we require basic resources not only for us, but for our
students as well. We will use these items either in classrooms or give it to them personally for
their daily use.
We are now reaching out to YOU to help these kids. THEY need YOUR help.
Attached is a wish list compiled by us to help kick start our journey in helping these kids and
their journey into a better life. We will make sure that these items reach the kids. We have
chosen these items as they directly impact the students achievement.
Peter & Jane books aid reading and increase literacy, basic stationery means they
do not have to borrow from their friends and wait for one another to complete theirwork. Manila boards allow us as teachers to prepare materials ahead of time and be
mobile as well as using it as a teaching aid.
Please look through the list and indicate what items you would like to help out with. The
quantities listed are the total number we need. You may donate all of it or choose to donate
a certain number of units.
For example:
No. 2: A4 Papers - I would like to donate 2 reams
We will then update the list and publish the latest one onhttp://aproudtfmfellow.wordpress.com
We THANK YOU for your generosity. You are playing an important part in helping end
education inequity.
With much appreciation,
Brian Geh, Chan Soon Seng, Jasmine Ong
